Another sweet Belgium beer, but is not so sweet like sugar stout. Sure it is like "gueuze" but I can drinking more of this because sugar helps remove sulfur and rubber taste that I am drinking in "gueuze". I would drinking with trappist beers! I asked the brewer if there was any Faro since it was listed on their chalkboard but not on the menu, and he said that he had just completed a batch the previous day and had some from his first sampling left that I could try. Toffee-amber color, no head at all. Aroma of fresh-cut vegetation, honey, apricot, nectarine. Very "young" tasting and complex. Honey, apples, grapes, and hazlenut in the wonderful flavor. Cantillon Brewery rocks! thebeertourist (2799), Oslo, Norway

Sharp acidic lemony lambik aromas mellowed by sugar. Toffee, raisins and lemon flavours, with a mild, but dry finish. Body is light as expected. A wonderful blend. jbrus (4872), Delft, Netherlands
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 10, 2002 Light tart aroma. Hazy amber/orange colour, no head at all. Sweet and fruity. Normally Faro is too sweet for me, but because Cantillon Lambic is so harsh their Faro turns out great. Sweet and sour finish with oak bitterness. Heavy finish but short. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 19, 2006 Sampled after the Cantillon Open Brewing Day tour. Had to wait around a half hour for them to make it but it was worth it! Still amber. Nose is almost sugary sweet but retains a pleasant amount of tartness and sour fruits. taste is sweet-sour but has the sour fruits taking over and aided by light leathery notes, mild barnyardy flavors, and faint woodiness. There’s some raw suagry notes at times as well. Body is almost uncarbonated but still creates a strong presence in the mouth. Lots of dryness and mild acidity round out the mouthfeel on this. Finishes with lots of sour fruit sprinkled with sugar, faint leather and light sweat. Very nice faro! Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 9, 2004 Sampled from a bottle blended two days earlier at the brewery and brought home to Denmark by my Cantillon supplier Jacob Lövenlund - Thanks a lot :-) Pour an unclear brown beer with a red gleam and no head. Little sourness in the aroma but sweet and sugary in the middle. Quite mild. Flavor is sweet, dry and woody with obvious notes of grapefruit and brown sugar. Nice sourness from the wild fermentation behind the sweetness. Reminds me of a Flemish Sour Ale, just sweeter. An excellent and very complex beer and a great surprise, I didn’t think Faro could be so tasty...!! Magicdave6 (5531), London, Greater London, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 26, 2009 From the jug at Cantillon, 17 months lambic with brown sugar. Aroma is a mix of caramel almost brown ale like malt, with a good malt vinigar acidity. Taste is great, the cantillon goodness mixed with the brown sugar sweetness is on the sweet side of balanced but is light and delicate enough to make it a fabolous drink. This was a good change to the 6 pints or so of straight lambic id already had that day. Hildigöltur (5109), København, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 28, 2004 Brown/orange coloured. This is by far the best faro I have had. It is not as cloyingly sweet and unbalanced as they most often are. Flavour of grapes and grapefruit with a little sugar. Very well balanced and pleasant.
