[1466-20080531] 1pt9.4floz bottle. Sour geuze aroma has a bit of dust and petrol candy. Hazy, light orange brown body with a quick foamy white head. Sour sour citrus flavour is quite acidic. Sour medium body. Lovely sourness, yum.

Wow, I expected to like this, but I didn’t think I would like it this much. Wonderful to say the least. Hazy yellow color, a bit of white head. Aromas of stinky cheese, apricots, and funk. Very tar sour fruit flavor, apricots, and a dry finish. The tartness actually causes my mouth to water.

Thanks to Marcus for this bottle. Hazy pale gold color with a minimal white head. Aroma is slightly sour with esters of pale stone fruits. Flavor is nicely sour with pale stone fruit flavor. Could be apricot. Body is near medium and carbonation is mild. Finish is medium sour. Mild funk. Just excellent.

Thanks Joey for bringing this 2002 bottle to Carlos’ place for the tasting! Aroma is funky, citrusy and nice sour peach/apricot - none of that artificial fruit you get from some of lesser lambics (and I’m not even talking about the horribly sweet Lindeman’s versions). Love that funk. The taste is quite tart and relatively clean. Yummy funk and sour apricots. Soft wheat-like character upon warming. Sourness is not quite as sharp as on fresher bottles, but you could argue this is a good thing. My preference - nice and sharp. Age treats it very well though, so you won’t go wrong aging a bottle. Still, one of my favorite Cantillon beers. How I need to get some more bottles!

750mL bottle, sampled at the 1st Annual Shenandoah Beer Throwdown, courtesy of wickedpete. Thanks, Pete!! Pours a hazy, straw-orange color; light off-white head with patchy lacing. Loads of funk (stinky feet, cheese, barnyard funk), apricots, and peachy sweetness in the aroma; good levels of acidity; nice combination of sweet fruit characer and loads of funked sourness; great nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: enormous amounts of tartness, sour apricots and peaches; funk, horseblanket, and cheese; again, an excellent rendition of a fruity and intensely funky / soured lambic; great stuff. Lengthy finish: tart peaches / citrus, funk, and some soft oak.

Last beer of a behemoth of a session provided by Mes. I don’t like fruit and despise apricot so you could have twatted me with a feather when I loved this. Stunk of pig shit. Fresh, sweet and the right balance of tartiness. Very hard to put down and very refreshing.

I can’t believe it took me so long to try this. Hazy lemon colored pour, small white head. Tart peach aroma. Flavor is sour peach, grapes, tannins, citrus, lemons...wow. Finishes nice and sour, I was sipping for a bit. This is great.
