Wow, this is an amazing aroma. I’ve lived at at house with an apricot trees my whole life, and perhaps that helps this beer. Body is a pale gold, but appealing, with a thin layer of white bubbles covering the top of this lambic. Taste is very sour, salty, but fades to a subtly sweet apricot/gueuze tastes. Almost makes me roll my eyes. This beer tingles the palate, and is amazing. Wow, that’s all I can say. jerohen (1615), Bussum, Netherlands

When trying to remove the cork it fell apart, but luckily the pressure inside opened the bottle itself. Ok, on to this fantastic beer. Great appearance, cloudy, trails of yeast, head as large as you want it to be. Immediately you can detect the strong typical gueuze aroma, tart, fruity, some oak, oh yeah this is good. First sip: whoa! This stuff is extremely sour, but fruity and complex as well. Surprisingly you just do not get used to the intense flavour, every sip is another explosion and it lasts and lasts. I don’t think the apricot flavour is very obvious, and i think that’s a good thing. May be my favourite lambic. smcd (366), USA

Initial aromas are all funk just as you’d expect from a Cantillon -- all the distinctive Cantillon aromas are there. Hazy straw/orange. Expected barnyard flavors. Wonderful palate -- perfectly medium-full with lively carbonation and a long finish. Then I let this breathe ... about half an hour into it (I had left some in a glass) it was like smelling and eating an apricot ... amazing. This is a great beer. 17thfloor (1514), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Aroma is unexpectantly very sharp and fruity, tangerines/necturine like citrus, lovely lovely apricot... wow, smells super, wow that’s great, funky dusty, sharp but tolerable, sharp gueze but with complimentary maltiness to fill it out. Yikes! Gueuze like beer, wow the perfectly blended apricot, shockingly acidic and crisp, even for a cantillon, the apricot is a great fit for the gueze, fairly sweet, quite tart, I really feel like I’m drinking a flavorful gueze which is something that kriek and raspberry lambics can’t achieve. The bitterness is really one of the coolest part of this beer, it lingers mixing with a slight vanilla flavor that leaves the impression of the last bite of an orange popsicle. Medium bodied, sharp carbonation, fuller feeling, plesant mouth-feel. Delicious, clean, sharp, and super drinkable!!! LOVE IT! minch25 (370), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma - lambic funk, oak crates, apricot? yes, apricot. Very tart; Soft juicy prickly apricot in the finish. Super refreshing. Exquisite. TAR (2097), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 12, 2003 2001 Vintage: Cloudy banana. Dazzling white, creamy froth. Surprisingly soft aroma of clay, tea leaf, lemon, glue, passionfruit, soured oranges, sharp iron notes, bandage, and fresh cracked grains. Vague earthy hop, apricot, bubblegum, and soft strawish, pale malt shades. Only slightly musty. Soft, fuzzy mouthfeel with a medium body. Puckeringly sour flavors, although less firm and irony than its counterparts. Lingering iron and bandage notes trailed by apple skin, honeydew melon, peach, and a lovely, highly subtle pale malt base. Finishes bone dry. The aroma showcases Gueuze qualities and somehow manages to simultaneously display raw cracked grains and beautiful fruity subtleties. The sour flavors are prominent, and the pale malts are elegantly understated. Less ironish and musty than its peers, but this epitomizes Lambic brilliance in an unprecedented fashion. hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

This is just a touch darker than freshly squeezed lemon juice and just about as sour. Don’t really pick up any of the apricot. Tastes and smells like lemon juice aged in oak. Lively carbonation. This is the most sour beer I have ever had. Kicks La Folie’s ass on the sourness scale... sorry New Belgium. Cabbage Patch Kids are honey-sweet compared to this. My nose and ball hair tingle each time I take a sip. I love spontanious fermentation. Liquid fun! Kinz (2221), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 4, 2004 Bottle from my Belgium trip. Bright hazy yellow, very thin veneer of a smooth white head. Pretty. Aroma initially of barnyard, but quickly tempered by a clear citric apricot note. In the mouth, there is an initial scorching knock of sourness, followed by barnyard funk, and ending with a surprising smooth, sweet flavor of almost pure fresh apricot. I'm amazed at how clear an apricot flavor came through. Amazing stuff.
