Honey covered berries (cherries, raspberries), cobweb and leather - quite fruity though. Looks mostly like a glass of cognac. Very nice berry flavor, leather, salt, light yeast - a very subtle blend. relatively lightbodied, but filling on the palate. Dedoulequeen07 (136), london, Greater London, England

Holy molly thsi was on old beast. A fabulous dark pinksh colour with a off whitish head which slowly diminished leaving small bubbles on the top. Fabulous raspberry slightly sour aroma with hints of sherbet. Dusky yeast with tart raspberries ending on a dry crisp finish. The sourness of this beer has mellowed well producing a long quenching finish. Thouroughly enjoyed Magicdave6 (5491), London, Greater London, England
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 31, 2007 Kulminator, 1979, I was getting quite jolly with dirk by this tim and after asking him numerous times i seemed to pull one out the bag. However in doing so i kept my notes minimal and kept up the jolly. Notes say: Awsome 4.3. From memory its one of the most drinkable beers iv ever had, the bottle was finished in 10 mins, looked amazing with minimal sediment which ment i could have more. dmradus (225), State College, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Updated: Jun 18, 2007Glass sampled at Brasserie Cantillon, Brussels. This was poured straight from the head brewer to my glass, so I’m confused as to it being retired - maybe I got really lucky and was there at the right time. Anyways. Deep ruby red bordering on a darkish pink, with a scum-cap pink tinged head. Aroma is a fresh blast of raspberries, with a slight tannic and musty earthiness playing around there as well. On the tongue, upfront raspberries and other fruity sweetness fades to a very tart middle. Sourness throughout the finish, which is deceptively dry and nice. Rasping, slightly yeasty after. Overall: raspberry cloying fades to a rounded sweetness which gives way to a tart finish. Nice. madsberg (4964), Søborg, Denmark
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2007 Bottled @ Kulminator (Vintage 1979). Amber coloured. Unclear. Fluffy off white head. Label is totally unreadable, only small bits of paper are left. Aroma of raspberries, earth, light sweetness and a massive acidic sourness. Impressive. Flavour as well is very good. Again loads of earth and barnyard. Massive sourness which is hardly countered by any sweetness. Rasperries are notable. Full flavoured. Very dry and acidic. Ends on a light sour raspberry note. Awesome how well this beer has aged. Might be a bit weak on the fruits, but nothing to really bother about. Try it if you hit Kulminator. Its only 25€, which I find to be a bargain. tomthompson89 (1479), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2006 Bottled - Kulminator- Antwerpen - 1979 vintage. A reddish coloured beer with hardly any head. The aroma is lovely spritzy fruit with raspberry seeds to the fore. The taste is tart and sour with raspberry notes. Quite restrained for a Cantillon. The sourness is only hinted at, although the re is a little lambic burn. Had the pleasure of smelling the cork. Twas like drowned spiders. Cheers Kook good onya. harrisoni (6798), Ashford, Kent, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2006 1979 bottle from The Kulminator. Reddish brown colour with thin white head. Yeasty, raspberry aroma. Odd sharp fruit on end. A little harsh, but it has stood up to the test of time amazingly well.
