Bit winey, some wood. Orange and a bit red coloured with no head. Taste is oaky, bit fruity (raspberries) and moderate tartness. Offcourse... this is a dry brew. :) duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England

Well for a start, this beer is older than me, and it still manages to taste absolutely wonderful. Lovely rasberry seed sourness (like when you get the rasberry seeds stick in your teeth). Lovely horseblankets/farmyard aromas, mouthfeel is puckering, juicy, sour, and very refreshing. You just have to love it. I can’t belive this beer is over 25 years old......amazing. Quite smooth taste, only some raspberry. Quite tart, but not as tart and jaw-breaking as many other cantillons. diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium

Clear, orange body. Looks just like a mead. Smells like cask wood, white wine, raspberries, apples, old beer. Heavily acidic initial flavour. Moderately acidic finish. Oily texture. Quite lively for it’s age. It was a very aged sample and in terms of smoothness of the beer it was like drinking cognac (not in terms it’s flavour). Very lovely beer, which was older than myself. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2005 Vintage 1979 - enjoyed at Kulminator in Antwerp with my wife and Carlo (Lachesis)! Golden copper colored with a small off-white head. Fruity and vinous aroma with some tones of raspberries but more of cloudberries, it reminds me a lot of the Cantillon Soleil de Minuit I had last year at Akkurat in Stockholm. Shows some sign of the age but still tart and very refreshing. Flavor shows a little bit of sourness, but is mellow and doesn’t has the sharpness of a fresh Cantillon. Dry and woody with rhubarb tones. Some cellar characters, but considering it’s is 26 years old it is very well preserved. Complex and very speciel. lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 24, 2005 At Kulminator (1979 VINTAGE) with Bierkônig and his charming Maria. Nicely served in old original Cantillon glass. Shining orange-light-amber color with small snowhite head. Very refreshing nose with complex touches of Renette apples, rubarbe, great Normandian cider, sour red berries, some fresh grass, wet birshwood, and a gentil accent of ripe Raspberry. Taste is sour but very well in balance. It has also fine hints of freshly rasped apple, rubarbe, hints of ferns, and very old Blanc de Blanc vintage Champage. For sure this one is more like an outstanding Gueuze with a faint noble accent of Raspberry. Great stuff and 26 years old many thanks Jeppe and Maria for sharing this one with me. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
