The aroma has a strong alcohol presence - no wonder with 9% ABV, and also notes of wood and apples - but they can’t hide the alcohol. The flavor is sweet - yet acidic with notes of grapefruit, alcohol, and apples. Not as sour as other Cantillon products. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 12, 2005 Updated: May 17, 2005Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Hazy reddish golden, almost flat. Woody cognac aroma. The nose is sweet, and it does have a vinuos character, like muscat grapes, but much less so than the Gueuze. Concentrated, complex and elegant. The low carbonation gives it a pleasant, soft mouthfeel and Cantillon’s acidity balances out the vinous sweetness - but still this is by far the least sour beer I’ve tasted from Cantillon. joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Aroma of wood, sherry and grapes.
Acidic flavour of wood and grapes.
Reminds me of a dry sherry.
Not as acidic as most lambics. Nice and interesting. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 14, 2005 Draught at Akkurat. Loads of cognac, prunes and raisins in the aroma and in the flavour. Notes of apples. Very sweet and mature. Dry finish. The high alcohol content is slightly noticeable in the aroma but very well hidden in the flavour. Not much sourness. Very interesting and original. And tasty. ante (2956), Stockholm, Sweden

Vinous aroma of cognac, wood, forest and white grapes. Vinous flavourwith a strong cask character. Wood, cognac and muscat grapes in front with subtle but still refreshing sourness. Woody vinous and sour finish. Wonderfull lambic. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2005 Hand bottled from draught. Hazy copper colored with no head of course. Vinous aroma with sour apple notes, not as tart as the ususal Cantillon. Some toffee and wood in there also and salty hints. Slightly alcoholic. Flavor is rather white wineish. Dry and sharp with a tart edge. Fruity with a grapefruity finish. Flavorfull and biding. An atypical Cantillon lambic, less tart, but still very nice and interesting.
