Nose displays obvious tartness, big cirtus/lemon notes present supported by earthy aromas of struck match (dont know about anyone else but i always get that with lambics...) Palate is really lean and tight (compared to the lindemans cuvee rene i’d sampled prior) with more lemon juice and some dusty leather. Super dry, tart finish keeps you wanting more! | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Updated: Jul 20, 2009375 ml bottle of the 2005 Organic Gueuze. Pours a nice dark gold with a thinner head. Aroma of lemon juice and zest, old leather and hay. Tart flavor, but not enough to overpower the subtleties of the barrel aging; spice and more hay with a whisper of vanilla. Excellent.
Update: Tasted on tap this beer is a revelation. The tart lemon and hay flavors become so vibrant the beer seems like it is on the verge of emitting light. alobar (1053), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
