I cracked this brew finally after hearing all of Drewbeerme’s wonderful Belgian lambic stories. 750ml 2005 vintage with classic geuze/man leaning back in chair label. Purchased at discount liqour in Milwaukee. Very hazy yellow that moves to orange where the flute is wider. Small, white, quickly dissipating fizzy head sits on the top of this beauty. Nose is very funky, with sourness and classic horse blanket, and oak. One of those please drink me beers. Flavor is very sour and tart, oak, citrus, and upfront that stays pretty strong throughout the beer with the tartness actually increasing as you move it around your tongue. Acidic but nice. Body is medium to light but hard to feel because of the insane tartness, very hotly carbonated though. So sharp and satisfying, I’m glad I have this bottle to myself.

12.7 oz bottle, bottled in 2006. Pours a hazy, yellowish-orange color, almost like honey; bright white head with a solid rim of medium-sized bubbles; good lacing. Intense, jaw-clenching sourness in the aroma; funky as all hell; citrus, horseblanket, sharp oak; incredibly generous, mouthwatering gueuze aroma. The actual mouthfeel on this is a bit flabby, though, with very mild carbonation; the emphasis is placed on intense citrici sourness, oak, and funk; jaw-aching sourness and solid density, but doesn’t live up to its aroma. Lengthy, oak-dominant finish; sour citrus and funk; ends nicely with just enough acidity. With a bit more lively carbonation, this would be fantastic.

Re-rate 8/24/09:Bottle sample at a tasting. Really cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of barnyard, lemon, some vinegar, fresh tropical fruits and candy hints. Mouth-puckering sour lemony flavor with some grapefruits, sweaty yeast and a big delicious brett attack. Smooth, silky, mouthfeel. Incredible. 9/4/9/4/18=4.4

Bottle at the brewery. Hazy golden color with a white head. Acidic and funky aroma of yeast, barnyard and fruits. Medium bodied and a powerful flavor of dry sourness and fruitiness. Wonderful stuff. 9/4/9/3/18=4.3

bottle, bottled in 2006. Tiny head, otherwise good-looking. Sour, slightly yeasty and fruity, flavours reminiscent of white wine. Dry and hoppy in the finish.

Bottle at home. Yellow, unclear, without head. Aroma moderate acidic. Flavor heavy sour. Light body, heavy carbonated. Not a delight to drink.
