Commercial Description:
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

Bottle. Mustard yellow in color. No head. Floral, sour apple, tart, acidic. Extraordinarily tart but not harshly so. Lulls you in with the promise to treat you well. Solid offering but not my preferred beer style. Sampled @ BCTC 2007

Bottle, Picked up at Noel Cuviers, Abel, West Flanders Belgium, Late June 07 Poured light orange in colour, with lively fizziness and nice swiftly disappearing white head. Aroma is oak, sour and yeasty. Taste is glorious, initially it’s like biting into a stick of rhubarb not that there is any rhubarb flavour but just for that great sharp crisp bite. Wonderful sourness and complex flavours such gentle carbonation as well, it’s fruity, its lemony its funky, fab beer.

Fulll sourness in aroma but some hint of harshness that reminds of alcohol. Quite tart but not aggressively so.

2003 Bottle. Pours a clear golden with no head but lively carbonation. Aroma is very acidic with notes of lemon, grapefruit, oak, and moderate yeast funk. Taste is very tart and full of lemon, grapefruit, oak, and hints of barnyard & wet leather. Medium thin mouthfeel with a good amount of acidity and mild spicy dry finish. A very well done Geuze.

chira non molta schiuma al naso acida e citrica amaro praticamente assente in bocca dopo l’acido in piacevole sentore agrumanto che rifresca il palato

(Bottled in 2005 - Labeled Classic Gueuze) Light tart aroma, with hints of green apples. It pours a clear straw like color with a white head that fades to a ring and some dusting. Very sour taste, with hints of oak and apples in it. Very long tart finish, with a lightness on the palate. A very nice gueuze, I really need to get my hands on some of these to have my wine drinking friends try.

Bottle. Somewhat hazy but clearer in color than other gueuzes. Aroma is a blend of citrus and hops. Balanced sour flavor with good amount of carbonation. A dry finish with fruity notes; apples, I would say. Great gueuze.

Bottle. Aroma is a woody, dry vinegar, lightly sour and acidic. Pour’s golden with an ephemeral whitish head that quickly disappears. Medium sour taste, very dry and woody, not overpowering and mouth-puckering as expected. Notably acidic, though. Mediumish body, and bone dry throughout. In this bottle, at least, the Gueuze is easy-drinking and relaxed, leaving a long, dry, gentle aftertaste, acidic, yes, but delicious!
