Commercial Description:
The world's classic Gueuze. A blend of one, two, and three year-old lambics creates a second fermentation in the bottle. The champagne of Belgium. In contrast, the Lou Pepe Gueuze is a blend of three 2-year-old lambics.

Newer vintages are labeled "Organic Gueuze", "100% Lambic Bio" or "Classic Gueuze".

750 bottle... Pours with not much of a head, nice golden color... aroma is really funky with some sweetness underneath... Flavor is about the sourest I’ve ever tasted, and not in a good way (but that’s just me). Palate is dry and puckering... Over the top sour, not a fan of the style though

Bottle Pours a cloudy amber gold with a thin off white head which leaves quickly. Makes some nice lacing rings. Has a good aroma of bubble gum, floral, and peach. Has a light carbonation. The flavor is sour, and spicy. Areal nice mix. The texture is differnt not thin and not thck. Has a medium body. The finish is good with a decent aftertaste. This is not my choice of beers but it has a lot of good points.

[2008] Bottle... Poured a vibrant, hazy golden with a bubbly, white head. Tart, yeast and acidic nose. Spicy, grainy and funky yeast control the flavor profile. Dry and tart of course, with a citrus and lactic character, and a earthy, dirt-like malt and yeast finish.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who brought it from Belgium (huge thanks!)
Poured a lovely hazy golden body with a big thick white head that went away at a medium pace. Wild yeast forms the nose, dusty too, some herbal notes. The taste is kinda light but refreshing which is a huge plus for me. Spicy funkiness, acidity, dryness, some herbal notes again (is that hop?!). Light acidic (maybe even lemony) end. Surprisingly balanced, lovely.

Bottle, sat outside a villa in France on my honeymoon. Woo woo woo. Orange with pretty much nowt up top. Low carbonation, very drinkable though. Quite neckable for a geuze. Quite mellow on the tart and bitterness, still there but not so much that you can’t pour it down if you’re that way inclined. I am. Delicate the gentleman below me said, I’ll go with that. Fruity, tasty, enjoyable but just no real wow factor.

Sour peach vinegar nose with floral notes. Clear deep orangey gold color, small head. Orange rind soaked in lemon vinegar taste, bright and tart. Very light carbonation, medium almost creamy body, tart lemony finish. A very nice beer, the floral and citrus characteristics makes for a very delicate taste. This could really benefit from more carbonation, it seemed a little too flat.

Bottle shared at Where the Wild Beers Are NYC 2009: Hazy deep golden with a dense off white film of head. Very buggy aroma- cobweb, molded wood, leather and that sharp citric acidity known to Cantillon. Crisp, citric acidity with leathery funk, tannic white oak peppery character, cheese rind and lactic presence. Bone dry and funky. A classic staple Guezue.

At a tasting, many, many, many thanks DSG for this amazing experience. Murky light orange with a little head, aromas of mustard, sour apples, peach, aprict and an aromatic skunkiness enveloping all. Flavours of unripe summer fruits amazingly strong sourness which feels almost salty, sea salty. The yeast character is quite noticable, aftertaste is quite short. Extremely intriguing, hope for more.
