Pours hazy bright orange with a medium white head that fades. Aroma- skunk, funk, yeast, orange, lemon, vinegar, sour berries, honey, sweaty blanket, peach, overall very zesty and pungeant at the same time. Taste is brutally sour but deliciously painful, kind of like having a small cut and pouring alcohol on it just to feel the burn. Medium light body medium carbonation.

On tap at Brouwer’s Big Wood 09. Light honey-colored pour, with a small head. Very dusty / funky - bitter citrus and some grassy notes, but it has a good sweet note, too - like the Girardin with a little touch of honey. Really vibrant, and extremely refreshing. Just great.

2007 vintage, bottle acquired via trade, thanks Jeff. Pours a clear apricot color with a medium white head that goes down to some small bubbles. The aroma just seeps out; sweet yeasty and woody sourness. The flavor is great; tart, funky gueuze flavors, sweet sugars, loads of straw and light puckering sourness. Very drinkable and nice. Funky and tart in the finish. I think I’m really starting to appreciate these beers. Nice.

Pours a golden orange color with minimal amount of white head. Has a slightly acidic smell to it will just a little funk. Has a slightly citrus taste that goes slightly sour with a little bit of tartness at the finish.

It’s about time for this one. One of those beers I’ve been meaning to try for a long long time and even had a bottle in stock but for some reason never opened it up until now. Pours a golden-orange color with a pretty nice initial white head with a little left on top. Wonderful funky aroma with cherry and berry notes. Flavors are moderately tart with berries and the additon of sour apples and a little oak in there. A touch dry and despite being tart it still comes across as a bit light. Silky controlled sour palate. This is clearly well put together.

An exceptional beer. Mesmerising. Poured on tap at the Rake on Friday before a gig. Lovely sense of cherries; floral notes and a sour dry finish. Aroma of cherries very strong on the nose. A wonderful beer. Improve the aroma slightly and it will be a perfect 5. I really love the conditioning on this beer on tap. It brings out the flavour so well. A lovely foamy head too. Thank you the Rake for giving me Cantillon on tap. A mind blowing experience.

Bottle. It’s blond with a slight fading line of head. The aroma is pleasantly funky, tart with apple, white grape, musk, damp wood, light grass, dandelion. Crisp mouthfeel with bubbles on the tongue; medium to light body. There is plenty of depth in the flavour; it’s tart with more apple and lots of ripe, slightly sweet dark blue grapes, a hint of brett. Finishes long. Wonderful!

Effervescent, lively, clear copper with orange hints, small white head, somewhat viscous... Aroma or funky barnyard, lemon, leather, new shoes, just a touch of fruitiness... Flavor is quite funky, lemon, leather.... Very lively, almost champagnelike, dry finish, a touch thin in the finish... World Class,
