This is my first Cantillon beer. Slightly hazy gold colour with oaky aromas. Very sour lemon and woody flavours. For someone who has never had a real straight lambic before, it is quite a novelty. Wouldn’t want to drink a lot of it, but I can certainly see why people rate this highly bierkoning (6099), La Tropica, Netherlands
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 6, 2003 Tasted august 2003, at the brewery. Glass poured by JP van Roy himself, straight from cask. Slightly cloudy, no head at all. Aroma has grapes, oak and citrus, the dustiness of the brewery. Immensely complex though young. Apple, honey, oak, lemon, sour cherries, marmelade, glue. Absolutely not too sour, but with a sharp edge. Great beer with enormous depth in aroma and flavor.

Draught from December 2006 apparently. One of the best young lambics I have had. Smells very young and has an unbrewed malt hint to it. Very wheaty and has a smell that is incredibly similar to the brewery itself. Quiet amazingly so. Extremely strong malt for a lambic. Very unusual for a lambic so young. Yum!
