Fantastic aroma that is sour with nice natural cherry and farmhouse notes. Flavor is very complex with lovely sour cherries, tart and finishes rather dry. So clean and spot on Very refreshing. Wow - this has aged so well! TheGrandMaster (1858), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Bottle in New Zealand, a deep pickish red with a bubbly head. The sourness of the aroma is stronger than the cherry with some sugary notes (like kiwifruit for me). Though the palate is sour it is still smooth - this is Cantillon at its best. The cherry flavour is very tart, which just increases in the finish. f351c4v (404), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA

Giant aroma, very musty with an overtone of a sharp cheddar cheese. A very metallic sourness, lasting from the onset to the finish of this excellent beer. A favorite lambic. Poured into a champagne flute. The beer pours cloudy with a brilliant red color. Produces a small head that diminishes quickly like champagne but leaves a tiny foam on top of the beer along the sides of the glass that stuck around till I was finished. The nose is not terribly strong, but you get a slight fruity bouquet, but that is fairly overwhelmed by the smells of oak and wild yeast. The beer tastes fantastic, very sour and tart, the cherries add the tiniest hint of fruitiness. A very very good beer.
Every time I drink good lambic, the only thing I want to do is go grab another bottle, it’s terribly addictive.

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Bottle, 70cl. Thanks to BeerBiker at OHBL meeting. The beer pours a deep red, cherrylike color with a thin white head. Aroma is sour and fruity. The flavor is acidic with notes of fruites and sour. The mouthfeel is sharp and for the not-so-experienced lambic drinker it is very sour. Gets better with each sip of the beer. Overall an average Lambic. smartlung (154), Valrico, Florida, USA

Aroma is light sour, cherries, barnyard, horse-blanket and a light woodiness. Nice mouthfeel with quite low carbonation. Flavour is tart and lightly fruity - some oakiness in there as well. Very well-balanced, btu still tart as only Cantillon can be. MikeF (528), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
