reddish color with pink head, it has fruity aroma that’s mixed with cherry and vinegar. very tart flavor, really hurts my throat. but it is still a lambic that’s appreciable.

33 cl bottle, bought at the brewery. A lambic with cherry overtones, none af the mature roundess or softness of other krieks. Sour and acidic. I find this refreshing, but it is not for beginenrs. Sour apples, sour cherries, almost vinegar. Cloudy, a bit yeast.

Tasted at Cantillon, Brussels. Sour barnyard aroma. Extremely sour, bu the cherry is clearly there and like Gambrinus, this is real fruit flavor and not a syrup. Red color. Excellent.

Brown bottle, 750 ml, bottled in 2006, best before 12/2015, purchased on February 11 2007, "savoured" on March 3 2007; eye: cherry, small pinkish head that disappears almost immediately, clear, no ’effervescence; nose: sour dominates everythin, cherry, a bit of wood, a bit of horse; mouth: sour, strongly astringent, a bit of cherry, acidic, finale is sour with a hint of sourness, medium body, quite carbonated, rather thin texture; overall: disappointing as it is too one-dimensional FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 750 ml, embouteilée en 2006, meilleure avant 12/2015, achetéle le 11 février 2007, « savourée » le 4 mars 2007; oeil : cerise, petite mousse rose qui disparaît presque immédiatement, claire, pas d’effervescence; nez : sure est dominant, cerises, léger boisé, léger cheval; bouche : sure, astringence prononcée, un peu de cerises, acidité assez présente, finale sure avec une pointe de sure, corps moyen, assez carbonatée, texture un peu mince; en résumé : déçu car un peu trop unidimensionnel

Vintage 2002: Bottle courtesy of Mike (Eyedrinkale) Pours a nice hazy bright red with a well retained head. Bright aroma with wood notes, sour farmhouse, horse blanket, lemony hints and of course cherries. It has an extremely tart flavor, makes me pucker, especially the first sip. Dry as a bone, with a lemony like sourness. Stuff is pretty drinkable though, a nice palate cleanser.

Pours an almost clear ruby with a creamy pink head. Interesting to note that of the 3 * 750ml bottles I bought in Belgium, the one that I bought at the supermarket was the best, it had a better, more uniform carbonation and more balanced feel to it than the ones that I bought at the brewery and a beer shop. Must have been sitting nicely on that shelf for a long time. Anyway, enough ramble... Aroma of wet hessian and a light tart dry cherry, perhaps some light ginger and almond too. Flavour is medium tart, fresh cherry, brett, almond, pit tannins combining very well. The finish is quite long, fruity and tart... I just love the finishes in the cantillon range. World class.
