Brewed in 94, bottled in 96. Pours a pure peachy amber, moslty clear, it lost a bit of its pinkish, violet highlights, still has a nice fizzy white head. Well rounded slight aroma of cherries, ripe friuts, barnyard, funky, chlorine, pedio- cherry pie, and lemony citric and lactic acid. Mouthpuckeringly sour with lots of lactic notes, lemon, cherry flavor is almsot lost completely, some bretty characters, finishes very dry and tart. This was awesome stuff. Thanks again Eric! rudolf (1787), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 12, 2006 Nose is traditional Cantilln - barnyard funk, oak as well as shocking cherry in the nose. More than I expected based on previous Cantillon fruit beers I’ve had. Very acidic lemon juice, oak, earthy cherry. Biting and great as expected. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2006 bottle. light red color. medium carpy head. sweet and sour aroma. lots of cherrys, woddy and earthy. odradek (2), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA does not count | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 5/5 | 1/20 | Aug 6, 2006 sinus-clearing sherry aroma; beautiful warm-red color with a very small head and little carbonation. i think my main mistake here was in not letting the beer age - mine was bottled in 2005. there are so many intriguing tart & woody flavors here (and, surprisingly enough, hints of sweetness) that are being drowned out by an almost overwhelming balsamic-vinegar taste. it is improving as i continue to sip at it, though. i’m planning on buying another bottle and seeing if i can hold off for five or six years. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Deliciously sour cherry beer. Not cloyingly sweet but with slight lemony notes that serve to brighten the accompanying flavors. Overly sweet lambic production this is not. They have their time and place, but a great beer like this is timeless. lgklotet (420), Singapore, Singapore
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 30, 2006 Bottle at Cantillon. Red with thin pink head. Aroma is cherries with the Cantillon-house fingerprint. Very dry and tart. There’s some harsh, tannin-like flavours as well. A bit to tart perhaps, I liked the Gueuze better, but this is nonetheless a very, very fine kriek, one of the best. thornecb (1813), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
