| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2006 At the brewery. I had this right after the gueuze, so most of my comments are comparisons to that beer. Smell is less acidic and less brett-y than gueuze, mostly of a faint brett and cherry overlay. The brett is definitely there on the flavor, and the acid is more tangy and mouthwatering, but the grape and fruity roundness is not there. The cherry is subtle overall, mostly a nice accent to the long and tangy finish. While the gueuze had nicely developed flavors, this seems flatter, like a cherry Flemish red. Still good, but I’m glad I got the other one first. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 26, 2006 Very very tart, sour cherries. Dominate the nose. Red with light pink head. Flavour is vinegary, some cherry. Very very sour again. Completely over-rides any other taste there. Nice, just too tart. Some fizz. Vintage 2005. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 5, 2006 2002 – Very nice a little unclear orange body, white head; Very nice deep complex nose of barnyard, hay, soil, orange, grapefruit and just very little cherry; Very sour body with a very sharp sparkle; Very sour finish with great length of cherry sourness and aroma, a lot of pit appears together with some warm, ripe cherry quite late in the finish. Very nice and interesting beer, I think the sourness overshadows the complexity of the beer, whih I find the case with a lot of the Cantillon’s.
