odd to see i haven’t put up notes for this one. must have had damn near 2 cases of the big bottles since i lived round here. a nice beer to sip on while watching a ballgame and listening to george jones. always looks like a cherry limeade with a big white head. the kind of nose that unless someone has developed the love for lambics would be aghast at. i’m just smiling. the cherry is apparent from the first sniff and sip to the last. smells incredibly sweaty and leathery, taste is lightly jaw wrenching with a nice sweet and tart side. a light popsicle stick and sulphur note pervade this, and i like that too. one of those beers that no matter what is going on in my life by the time i’m halfway through this i’m in a better mood. 5 8 7 4 20

(Bottle, 0.75 l, bottled 2008) Poured deep red and almost clear with medium sized, fizzy, pink and quickly disappearing head. Aroma contained sourness, cherries and cherry stones. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, berries, cherries, crispness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was mouth-watering, sour and lightly bitter.

Blood red beer with weak and pink head. Aroma is strongly sour, some sweet cherries and hint of fermented fruits. Sour cherries, lemon, drying and long aftertaste. Lot of carbonation and quity sticky to drink. Fresh, interesting, cherry and this taste better after each mouthfull.

37,5 cl bottle at home. Bottled 21. aug. 2009. Clear, deep reddish color, nice but dissapering pink head. Aroma is cherries, sourness, wood and barnyard. Flavor has a lovely and not too extreme sourness, cherries, wood. Dry, not much sweetness. Fine carbonation, light to medium body.

Bottle courtesy of blazer06. Pours a deep red color with light red to pink head. Aroma is tart with notes of sour cherries, light vinegar, overripe fruit, some hints of spice. Flavor is about the same, with more intense notes of sour cherries, barnyard funk, and overripe fruit. Medium body with a crisp, tart finish. Nice ale.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who brought it from Belgium (thanks!)
Poured a shiny red body with a pink head. Tart funky nose, something light and sweet too. Maybe. Just maybe. The taste is as sour as expected, which is "really sour", and funky, but it all feels somehow balanced. Salty, but carrying some vague notes of sour cherries. I’ve run out of descriptors but still... a quality lambic.

Bottle from Sam’s in Durham. Pours dark pink with very light pink head that quickly dissipates. Nose of sour cherries, lemon, wood. Taste adds extra Cantillon tart sourness. Good, but expensive.

Reddish pour with a short-lived fizzy white head. Basically looks like kool-aid once the head dissipates. Aroma of, surprise, sour cherry. A little bit of wood, maybe cedar. Mild cough syrup. The flavor is extremely sour. I like it a lot. The cherry flavors are almost overwhelmed by the acidic bitterness, but in the end they balance out nicely enough. The finish is really clean. Medium/light mouthfeel, very little carbonation, but this is fine given the huge bite from the sourness of the beer. I like this one a lot. Maybe a little bit one dimensional, but that doesn’t prevent it from being great.
