Not a bad price for a great beer. You gotta like the lazy cask after having this one. A fellow beer lover at the bar was telling me that the lazy cask just never refermented, or had some other problems with it, so they didnt release it for about 5 years, until it all of the sudden became good! This was one of the best Cantillon’s I have had and one of the best Guezes out there. Pours a cloudy gold with a thin fizzy head and some lace. Aroma is very sour but not overly so (like fou foune), oaky, woody, earthy, tons of lactic bacteria, and lots of acidity. Flavor is lactic bacteria, farmhouse funkiness, earthy, grapeskin, and lots of wood. The mouthfeel is very smooth and finishes off very dry. One of the best beers of my short trip to Chicago. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA

Oh well, a happy mistake anyway. The body was cloudy with a medum gold coloring. The aroma was classic Cantillon with some lemons, leather and sherry. There was also blue cheese. The mouthpuckering sourness took a minute to get past. The was sharp lime juice with some blue cheese and a bit of salt. A decent Cantillon, but I like some more flavors. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 31, 2005 A nice treat, one of the most sour beers I’ve had, although definitely not the most sour. Still, among those really sour beers, I like this one almost the most. Fiberglass (new boat) and madeira aromas. Sour bread dough. Whew, this one is sour. Cherry pits (not a kriek though), peach cobbler, fresh nectarine. Cloudy gold, small to no head. 1998 bottle. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 5, 2005 750. Hazy orange-amber body with a thin white head. Well carbonated. Wood dust over the usual musty discarded grapefruit rind. Sort of a short-lived flavor. Starts off with sour grape skins, green apple and quick incorporates gentle crackerish wheat malt and a lightly toasted malt finish (with all the tart stuff too, of course). This lambic does have a nice clean flavor but I’m not sure what’s so special about it. RAYBOY01 (1834), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 3, 2005 Very intensely vinegary and very sour/tart. But the finish is extremely dry. Pronounced cut grass notes. I’d try it again. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 27, 2005 Bottle: Poured hazy darker gold colour. Some yeast chunks there too. White head. White wine grapes and musty cheese aroma. Flavour is a balance of juicy grapes/fruits and tart sour acid. Quite nice. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

Aroma is minimally sweet, horseblanket, cobweb, sour. Taste is minimally sweet, lemon, tart/sour, horseblanket. Light body with some acidity. No doubt who the brewer is.
