drewbeerme (1839), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 28, 2007 750ml, ’98 vintage. pours semi-hazy orange-golden with white head. looks great. nose is funky, vinegar, oaky, lemon, and brett. you can tell by the nose that this is something special. flavor notes of apricot, lemon, vinegar, oak, brett, touch of sour, amazing. the acidity is there but rounded out nicely. a great gueuze.
BDR (1903), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 7, 2008 A huge thanks to badgerben for this. A cloudy orange color with a hugely sour aroma. Almost overwhelmingly sour, the body was still smooth. oh6gdx (6334), Vaasa, Finland Sep 29, 2008 Bottled@Akkurat. Orangeish golden colour with minor head. Aroma is acidic and sour wood with some mild notes of sour fruits. Flavour is dry acidic and sour with some mild yeast, wood and also mildly bluecheesy notes. Long sour wooden aftertaste. Really mouthdrying. Still a bit smoother than many other Cantillons. radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Sep 8, 2008 Golden-orange in colour with a very quickly dissipating white coloured head, no lacing. The aroma is very acidic with noticable citrus, sharp with the usual Cantillon funk. The flavour is very acidc and tart, insanely sharp, light much, some cheese and quite funky. Acidic mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium/light carbonaton. Finishes long, very acidic and funky.
There wasn’t a whole lot of carbonation in this bottle but that didn’t seem to hamper anything. A very assertive lambic from Cantillon.
750ml bottle obtained in a trade with Crosling, thanks Nick.

Lovely! kmweaver (2125), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Aug 3, 2008 750mL bottle, bottled in 1998, courtesy of kramer17801, pre-BCTC tasting. Thanks again, Jason!! Pours a hazy, effervescent, golden-orange color; fine, pepper-like particulates; creamy, white head with fine-bubbled lacing, coating the glass; gorgeous pour. Loads of sour citrus, barnyard funk, and cobweb / funky citrus in the aroma; excellent levels of acidity; great nose; touch of toasty wood. Very mild carbonation. Loads of funky citrus, medium-to-high levels of acidity, cobwebs and funk; very dry, funky, creamy texture in the mouth; gorgeous, creamy, impressively sour and complex gueuze. Awesome. Lengthy finish: tart citrus, cobwebs (like an attic: dusty, alive), and lasting funk; a very soft ending to an excellent beer.
