Perfectly balanced between the funk and the fruit. The sourness lingers in the aftertaste but agin there is just enought sweetness tokeep it from being mouthpuckeringly bitter. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2009 ’05 Bottle. Fiery red-orange color, bubbly off-white head that reduces to a thin coating. Nose is acidic, earthy raspberry, some vinegar combining with lactic notes to give the fruit a robust but slightly off-putting tinge. Flavor is sweeter, the raspberry less clouded by other elements and on full display. Also light citrus and some minor wood. Sparkling body, long finish, a bit thin though and the raspberry tapers off too quickly. Very nice, but it would be even nicer if the lactic-vinegar notes were turned down a bit.
