Deep red/purple color with a very faint head. Aroma is tart with a rasberry permiation. Flavor is also tart with an initial pop of acidity followed by the rasberry. Dry and very user friendly. I would recommend this to anyone willing to spend that kind of money. heemer77 (4312), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 11, 2005 From a 2001 vintage 750ml bottle. Very dark red body. Beautiful coloring. The head is a thin off white. Lively carbonation. The aroma is massive raspberries. Also hints of vanilla, must and wodo in the background. Not nearly as funky of an aroma as I had expected. Taste is mouth puckering and in your face. It has hints of leather and wood with a salty finish. The mouthfeel is sticky. The raspberries are barely tasted, but definitely in the aftertaste. A nice dry finish on the palate. Balsomaic vinegar notes are definitely here. As Joeh noted, the raspberries become more apparent as you drink more. While this is very sour, it is also complex and enjoyable. A very nice example of the style. Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England

Poured into a straight Cantillon glass. Dark red-purple, hazy and almost completely still with no head. Aroma is vinious with sharp raspberry jam aroma and background acidity. There’s something else there in the aroma also, a sort of a vinegarish meaty character. Flavour is similar - sour and tart with some sharp fruitiness. The raspberry character is overwhelmed through sharpness at first, but later raspberry seed/pip flavours come in. Has a fair bit of body and thickness to it, surprisingly. Nice stuff. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 27, 2004 Aroma is sour, sweet and true raspberry. Hazy pinkish/red, with the tiniest of pink fringe, near the bottom of the glass lie raspberry seeds. Flavours are very pronounced, with raspberries, some sourness, tartness, earthiness, barnyard, wet blanket, the whole range.(pardon the pun) Complex, medium bodied, tart, sweet, dry as can be. Fantastic!

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Dec 23, 2004 Cloudy beautiful pink, with real raspberries. Cider-like aroma and no barnyard. Great sediment of more sour at bottom of bottle. Very smooth drink, hard to gulp down although I gave it a college effort. 2001 vintage. Must be shared. Seems richer than 5%.
