[Vintage 2001] A hazy raspberry red beer with an extremely pink fast disappearing head. The aroma is fantastic of raspberries, wood, and sourness from the wild fermentation. The flavor is sligtly sour, that runs along the side of the tongue, but the real sourness dies quite fast and becomes like grapefruit. The end is somewhat woody. The mouthfeel is a little thin, which is surprisingly for a Cantillon. Thanks to MadsBerg for bringing this to a tastingsession.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a very pretty, clear red colour with no head at all. Distinct sourish, fruity nose. Light and somewhat watery. Fruity accents and a distinct tartness. 281006

'00 version sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden in April 2003.
Clear red and hazy. Acidic nose with fresh raspberries. The normal Cantillon sourness is here balanced by a welth of sweet, fresh raspberries. Complex and lightly woody with citric acid finish.

75 cL bottle, 2005. Pours hazy to murky red with a fizzy pink head. Sulphorish dry raspberry aroma. Quite tart initial flavour. Has a classic dry wooden base flavour with a nice raspberry tartness lingering on top. Ends dry and with a lingering raspberry acidic to citric flavour.

Bottle 2002 @ 16th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2007, Opstal. Unclear light amber red color with a average fair lacing mostly diminishing off-white head. Aroma is moderate raspberry / fruit, sweet / sour, vinegar, notes of wood. Initial flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and acidic, middel flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and acidic, finish flavor is moderate to heavy acidic and light to moderate bitter with a long duration. Nice balance. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat to soft. ;o))

Bottle. Nicely acidic aroma. Hazy red colour, not as deep as the kriek. Nicely refreshing acidic flavour, rounded off by a hint of fruit. Cleans your mouth efficiently after a day’s beer drinking.
