Burgundy/pink color with a pinkish head. Very horsey aroma, with little hints of sourness. But the flavor is very sour and bitter, vinegar-like, with cherries in the background. Was one of the most interesting beers I’ve ever had. Rciesla (3656), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Pours a hazy red/pink body with a whispy pink head. Aroma is sour lactic acid, very acidic, with hints of woodiness. Big sour funky cherries, very dry and acrid and sour funk. Dry and mouthwatering. Very delicious, made some awesome blends with the last 1/4 of the bottle. m4rest88 (216), Beverly Hills, California, USA

Sour flavor all the way through, just the way I like it!
Great looking beer too - purplish red hue with no head.

Vibrantly, beautiful red body. Very pretty. Strong cherry aroma with oak tannins and an ever so light funk. Taste is somewhat sour and very dry with wood and cherries. Not nearly as sour as I was expecting. Very light carbonation, slightly puckering mouthfeel. Wasn’t sour enough, feels like it is missing something. I greatly preferred the Lou Pepe Framboise. blipp (1679), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Brewed 2005/Bottled 2007. a deep red beer with a quickly dissapearing pink head. The aroma has a bit of must with light wisps of tart cherries. The flavor starts tart and acidic, gets a little bit sweeter, almost like cherry pie filling, and finishes with dry wood and more tart fruit. Really good. piscator34 (1130), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Bottled sample, 2001 vintage via Rudge75. Deep ruby in colour with moderate carbonation. Very funky on the nose, with notes of barnyard, earth, faint sweet cherry, and latex paint. Mellow and light bodied in the mouth with more cherry (pits and all), lemon rind, and wood. It strikes a nice balance between lactic and citric sourness. Perhaps my least favorite of the Cantillon Lou Pepe series, but still fine stuff. arrogantb (701), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 14, 2009 $24 750ml bottle neck reads 2005 and the cork and back label are marked 2007. Wonderful pink color with a head that looks amazing for all the three seconds it lasts upon being poured. Smells only slightly farm-like. Tastes like tart cherry lambic, delicious. Not nearly as acidic as the regular Cantillon kriek and is much easier to drink.
