Pours a hazy red with a thin, creamy off-white head. Aroma of sour cherry, wood, horseblanket, funk, sweet hay. Somewhat earthy. Taste is sour cherry with wood and barnyard notes, and an herbal note reminiscent of celery. Very tart. Full bodied. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2008 A beautiful red color and a great beer, but it was beat by the lp framboise in a side by side. Mild cherry aroma with lambic aroma. Sour cherry in the aroma and flavor, but not as sour as the raspberry. Still an exceptional product, and it is quite sour. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 10, 2008 2001 Vintage. Tasted September 7, 2008. Dark red color with a thin head. Light cherry aroma. The taste was packed with a great blend of fresh and dried cherries. Lightly tart. Missing the sourness of a lot of Lambics. MrSifter (11), , Italy

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Carolina Crew tasting. Bottle courtesy of Todd and Bob?! Thanks! 99 & 04 vintage. Muddy red pour. Acidic, funky, cherry . The 99 was an excellent beer with lots of barnyard, oak, leather, and cherry.
Cherry flavors were more evident in the 04 durhambeer (1242), Durham, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 7, 2008 Bottle; ’99 and ’04 tried side by side. ’99 was more muddy, pink with brown/orange tints to it. ’04 was brighter dark pink. Both were phenomenal, though the ’99 blew me away. More acidic and gueuzy, sour, lemony, and earthy in addition to the cherry notes. The cherry was not at all overpowering in the ’99. Acted more as one of many flavors instead of being dominant. ’04 had a bit of diaper smell upon opening, but had more cherry (pits and skins included) than the ’99. Great lambic--worth the price. craftycarl21 (601), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2008 pours a dark gumwood with minimal head. Aroma of cherry, bread and biscuit, and some vinegar. Flavor is complex- tart and yeasty at the start with hints of barnyard, and smooths out to a sweeter cherry hint at the end. Lots of vinegar. Palate is powerful. Not my style, but i can certainly appreciate such an interesting and complex beer. Very nice.
