(3/12/08) Bottle at Bier Circus in Brussels. 2000 vintage (bottled 2003). Deep red with a medium pinkish head – beautiful. Aroma of sour cherries, barnyard, a bit of sweat and citric notes. A very tart dry flavor with cherries, some lemon and oak – delicious! Some pleasant light astringency. Rounded mouthfeel. I like this beer more and more with each sip. I can definitely understand the flies who keep gathering around the glass of this wonderful brew.

750ml bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki)
Deep red, small tight head. Sour cherry aroma, also tart sourness. Sharp in the mouth, slightly puckering. Very pleasant sourness, buttery and tasty mellow cherries. Not particularly sweet at all, which is nice. Woody and estery - some heavy phenols. In fact there’s smoked port snack sausages in there!

Richmond Industry Gathering 2007. Bottle 1999. Hazy red boddy with a reddish white head. Sweet dry cherry and sour aroma. Heavy sour flavor, lots of cherry. Light body with high carbonation.

Bottle, vintage 2005. Bright cherry red with hints of light burgundy and a thin white head that dies off instantly. Nose is tart and punchy, but a little less than what I was expecting, cherry and sparkly gueuze. Mouth is tart cherry with some sour swallow, but then a sweet glace cherry aftertaste. There’s some barrel there too, but the palate is delicate compared to the punchy taste. Would have liked some more sourness here. Lightly carbonated, enough to be refreshing, but also enough to stop you downing the entire bottle. Leaves you dry and begging for more. Enjoyed this.

Thanks to TheCheeseMan for this. Pours a brilliant orange-red color with a large pink foamy head and bubbly lacing. Aroma is light oak, tart cherry, and basement funk. Taste is about the same but the palate is lacking.....a bit try and bitter. I think the cork split a bit and some air got to it and blame this for the palate.

Thanks to my brother Petrucci914 for sharing this! Pours out a deep cherry color with bubbly pink head that fades quickly leaving just a thin foamy layer. Aroma is of sour cherries, light wood, must and and yeast. Taste is sour cherries, light oak and yeast funk. Palate is a bit acidic and the finish is very dry. Good stuff!

Bottle (750ml, vintage 2002): Hazy and reddish with a small pinkish foamy layer; very intensive fruity (cherries, almonds), and cellary-sourish nose; very solid dry sourish flavour; almonds, cherries and a cellary acidity in the lingering finish. That is a real fruit beer.........
