Excellent. Pours a wonderful red that looks like tropical punch kool aid with a nice egg shell colored head. Aroma was much like the smell of a permanent marker with a hint of cherry and spice thrown in for good measure. Taste was fantastic. Cherries so sour it almost make the eyes water that lead you to a wonderful dry finish that reminds me of the flavor of those sour cherries candy you used to be able to get at the penny candy store. This was a great beer that I will be having again.

2001 vintage (still in stock) from John’s in Iowa City. The last several years have done wonders rounding the taste. Beautiful hazy bright, seemingly almost neon, ruby red. Delicate pink-tinged white head that lasts. Acidic sourness, somewhat watery aroma. Very strong rounded acidic flavor, some sweetness. Light cherry flavor. Thick and ever-changing palate. A thinking beer.

A great lambic. Cantillon can do no wrong. Aroma was huge with sour cherries, funk and wet blanket. Pour was a deep ruby with a 2 finger off white head. Taste was mouth puckering sour. Sour cherries and must with light vinegar and hay. Another great lambic by the experts.

750ml bottle from renffisch. Great red cherry colour. Sour cherries with a nice strawberry kink as well. Mouldy hay or poo (depending on whether you ask renffisch or Mes - they are arguing while I type!) as well!

(75cl bottle, vintage 2002) Cloudy, murky red colour with a short reddish frothy head. Sour and aromatic morello cherry aroma with light almondy bitter notes. Sour flavour, light bodied with a soft but refreshing carbonation. Acidic cherry fruity taste; bone-dry, cherry-fruity and sourish, long lasting, tart and woody finish (12.03.08).

0.75 l bottle, vintage 2004. Hazy deep red color with thick pink head. Very sour and juicy cherry aroma with grapefruit, strawberry and barnyard. Very sour, dry and juicy flavor with cherry, strawberry and wild yeast bitterness. Fairly full bodied and filling for a lambic, not so drinkable.

Maroon body with no head. The nose is sour pie cherries, cheese, lactic acid and horseblanket. The flavor is moderately sour and lightly sweet with lots of fresh cherries, almonds, cheese, yogurt, melon and a touch of cotton candy. Medium body is very soft with light carbonation. Fantastic kriek.
