Bottle 75 cl, bottled 2002. Small fizzy white head that’s mostly diminishing. Deep red colour, sparkling, lightly cloudy. The aroma is dominated by a great taste of cherry and cask wood. It is lightly malty and hoppy. It has a medium body, a sticky texture and a fizzy carbonation. It is very well balanced, moderate sweet, lightly bitter and heavy acidic/dry. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA

Scents of funk, sour and, cherries on the nose; very nice. Oaky, sour/tart flavor with a little spice. Leaves me salivating for more. rayg1 (442), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2008 Its been about 3 weeks since I had this but moving to Japan has delayed my rating. First of thanks a bunch to Ross for breaking out this special brew, a 2005 vintage I believe. This beer pours out a nice deep reddish color with a very small pink head that went away almost instantly after pouring. Aroma is light and tart cherries with a touch of sourness and funk. Oak is very present on the nose as well. Taste is light and thin but full of flavor. Sourness of the lambic and tartness of the cherries blend very well. Slightly spicy but balanced agian by the wooden flavors. Very good, thanks again Ross. fredandboboflo (1417), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Dec 29, 2007 Bottle 75 cl, harvest 2001, bottled 2002. A few extra years of age seem to have done wonders for this brew. Gorgeous red hue. Aroma of typical Cantillon funk and gueuze sourness complemented perfectly by sour cherries that break through more and more. Flavor is more of the same, the best blend of the gueuze and the fruit I have had to date. The champagne-like lambic blend has neither been overrun by the cherries, nor is it so powerful that you may as well be drinking a straight gueuze. Absolutely dances on the tongue, I didn’t want to ever swallow as it retained it’s flavors in my boiling mouth longer than I could have anticipated. Awesome. TrefwoordPunk (556), Leiden, Netherlands

Pours a wonderfull clear red with a pink head, best looking beer ever. After opening the bottle I smell red wine, but after pooring this in my glass I smell the aroma of cherries and vinegar. The flavor has a perfect mix of sweetness and sourness but I also note hints of coconut I really don’t like, where does that come from? The finish is nice mildly sour, a really good kriek! | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Updated: Aug 29, 2009Pours deep red. Aroma is packed with cherries and has a mild sour tone. Flavor is nicely balanced between sour and sweet. Natural sour cherries and usual lambic notes. Good complexity but not as sharp as the plain Cantillon Kriek. Still - lovely! hopson (595), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 24, 2007 estoppel hooked me up with this, and what a treat. pours cherry red, with a pink head, and an unmistakably tart cherry aroma. Flavor was sour (but more so cherry tart) cherry. Did not get much in the way of oak as was advertised by the bottle. No matter. A new favorite. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Somehow he was able to get me a 2004 bottle for next to nothing. I think he did a little under the desk work, if you know what i mean. Pours out a bright red color with a pink head on it. Smells like cherries and oak / wood. (not surprising). Taste is sweet and has almost a weird spice to it, that goes away after your mouth gets used to it. Very smooth, and almost refreshing without being overly sour. Good stuff, Id like to have more.
