(Draught) Dark red colored, little vanishing white head. Rich wooden-cherry aroma with convenient dryness, berries and sourness. Fine aroma indeed. Medium bodied, still feels nicely thick and soft. Flavor is more sour with dominating wood in start, cherries come up in aftertaste with berry and safty tone. Aftertaste also turns to even more sour. Some lemony orange in aftertaste.

Beautiful blood red with fizzy pink head and lush, full laces. Like most Cantillon offerings, the flavor is kind of consumed by a harsh lemon sourness that overpowers everything else. The cherries were wonderful though, mostly tart but full and fresh. Good and interesting, but I wouldn’t buy it again considering the steep price.

2001 bottle shared with drmatt, smhncabot. Aroma is all sour cherry and funk that just assaults your senses. The sour dry, barnyard is so appealing. Jesus, this aroma used to repel me; what happened? Taste is super sour at first, just very unripe cherry and crazy yeast profile. The finish is slightly bitter, funky, and bright cherry- like you have the first bite of a sour cherry, but as you slowly chew it the cherry develops and matures into a ripe, well-rounded fruit. This beer is amazing. It looks like cranberry juice, tastes like sweet/sour cherry, barnyard, and smells very similar with a lot of cherry and funk. I could drink this all day. 959518 ----re-rate- 1999 Lou Pepe Pure Kriek consumed 1/24/2009 Aroma is dirty hay and rotten cherries; ah, lovely! It’s like an earthy, cherry pie. Taste is lemony-tart cherry. Lots of acid and some small bit of sweetness brought on by the malt. Wow. 959418

2004. Fantastic looks. Thick pink head, tiny bubbles. Beautiful clear red colour with a hint of violet. Lime, cinnamon and raspberry in the aroma. Extremely tart, dry and almost gooey mouthfeel. The finish has some cinnamon in it.

2004. This beer has a very brilliant "dark-bright" cherry red appearance. Full sour cherry nose, with the classic cantillon funk on the background. Very complex but enjoyable and drinkable in mouth, sour cherries, metallic, oak, refreshing tartness. fantastic. My favourite Cantillon so far. ******Tap@Abbazia di Sherwood--20/08/09***** Taste& smell just wonderful. Love it.

Dark red cherry beer with a nice pink head. The aroma of sour cherries is overwhelming. We smelled it already when the bottle wasn’t even near our table. Sour cherry flavors as well. Nice tartness.

Tampa RB Gathering Beer #15....2001 vintage, big thanks to Degarth for cracking this one....the star of a great tasting, for me at least....it’s amazing how our perceptions and palates can change in such a short time, in March I was literally pouring traditional lambics down the sink, now I have 2 in my top 10, with another tied for the 11th spot....huge aroma on this guy - barnyard, sour cherries, vanilla bean, oak, don’t know why I just don’t give it a 10 for aroma, another sample and I just might....light red body with a very small head of bubbles....flavor is as good as the aroma, huge notes of mouth puckering cherry pie filling, vanilla, oak and some solid earthy notes, barnyard to the max....palate is sublime, medium bodied but dancing around, even at this age, never cloying....finish is supremely long, tart cherries and vanilla abounds....wow, what a beer....I must have more
