Deep red of color with a reddish head. An aroma of strawberry, fresh cherries, notes of sweets and sour notes. A flavor of dry cherries, sweet notes, sour notes and nice drinkable. A well balanced lambic.

2004 vintage sampled at the blind tiger ale house. Tart cherries and sourness in the aroma, some wood. Not very sugary albeit well balanced. The sourness is incredibly balanced with how acidic this beer is. Delicious

750 ml bottle

I picked this up over Christmas time in Rockford, IL. It was a bit pricy so I didn’t want to drink it for less than a good reason. In this case it was to ccelebrate the GTMW and clear some cellar space. I can always pick up another bottle and store it until my stomach learns to not churn after two sips of such wonderful beer.

Aroma / Appearance - The nose is very tart cherries as one would expect from such a style. It was almost like cough syrup but without the sugary sweetness or thick consistancy. The body looked almost perfect - translucent medium red as if someone blended red Twizzlers into a liquid form. A bubbly thin head tried to persist but was quickly swallowed by the acidity below.

Flavor / Palate - Now we get to the painful / delicious part of the story. I was only able to drink about an ounce and a half of this before my stomach began to rebel. Next time I won’t this on a mostly empty stomach. The flavor of intensely sour cherries filled my senses. A very funky sensation then washed down my throat dying out every corner. Even on the way home thirty minutes later I was still parched. This is one of the most acidic beers I have ever tried - almost like La Folie but with more funk.

Dark cherry in colour, light pinkish coloured head, some light patchy lacing. The aroma is acidic, excellent cherry tartness, good sweetness for a Cantillon, woody. The flavour is actually a bit more mild than your typical Cantillon fruit lambic but that’s not to say the the sourness isn’t there, lots of acidic cherry burst, quite tart. Sour mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes oaky, lots of cherries, acidic, tart and dry. Amazing stuff, a step up from their regular Kriek for sure. One of the better Cantillons.

750ml bottle from the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/new-york target=blank>Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York.
Purchased in November 2004, opened on March 16, 2007.

Red delicious sour cherry and honey. Mouthwatering: just the smell of it. Makes saliva glands active. Plenty of fruit. Dry bubbly and sour/ Sour in finish. Fruity waterfall of mild yet prominent cherries. Yummy, but not the best yummy ever. Still awesome!

750 ml bottle, vintage 2004. A wonderful deep red beer with a pink head. Cherries and wood prevail in the aroma, while the sour notes are present but in less quantity than other Cantillons. the flavour has strong notes of cherries and the typical acidity of the style, though this beer is more drinkable than other stuff of the same brewery. tartness and cherry in the finish. Simply delicious.

2001. pours a deep purple, burgundy with a small pink head. sour, musty, cherry aroma. flavor of cherry, barnyard musk, green olive, grapes, vinegar and oak. also a hint of burnt matches. not as acidic as some....well it doesn’t burn my throat as much. the palate smoothness is what makes this so special.
