2004 vintage on tap at Cooper’s Seafood, Scranton, PA. I was stunned by how well crafted this lambic is. Cherry mahogany red oak flavors with a sour leather aftertaste and the acidity seems so well balanced. A small lacing of a head but visually stunning with its ruby red tone.

Bottle (2003) at ØLbaren - Jens bought this and shared with us, Engelsman, Gunnhild, Mette & Me. Clear red - light pink head. High vinegar, sourness, cherry, light spicy, a clean brew. Very good !!!

Wow- this has a strong sour cherry flavor. The first taste or two really makes you pucker. Nice reddish appearance though and strong sour cherry aroma. It did have a spicey flavored aftertaste.

#800!!! ’01 Vintage. Cork was in great shape, which was a pleasing sign. The pour revealed a gorgeous deep red brew that sported a lightly colored pink head with lively carbonation present in the glass. Aroma of sour cherries wafted from the glass, and presented a wondeful experience for the nose. Sour cherry spice? This beer puts forth that flavor and makes it work to perfection. The sour aspect hits first, of course, but does not overwhelm at all. In the middle of the experience, the cherry flavor makes itself known without being unwelcome. Finally, a dash of peppery madness arrives and suprises the taste buds in a delightfuly delicate dance of flavoring. This is simply a superb experience--one that I’m glad I waited to experience.

2002 vintage. Pours deep ruby red with pink highlights. Sour cherry and hints of spice (cinnamon & nutmeg?) on the nose. Quite firm body. WOW! An explosion of sour and tart cherries on the palate. Quite tart and dry. Finish dry and ling. Very fun stuff.

2004. Pizza Port Belgian Beer Fest. On tap. Vivid, exciting bright real red fresh cherry juice vibrance, alive with dripping moisture and a wildness of the pits. Florid and bright vermillion, with a rose fringe and blush head. Flavor is a sweet, chirping acidity in the note of perfected aged cherry alcohols, fresh flesh and pining pits. Amazing balance derived singularly from the fruit. All around stunning.

Great, great beer(ish). Ruby red color, spectacular cherry smell. Much better than lindenmans, because less sharp and less sweet. The best Cantillon. Tried it at the12 hour Belgian beer partyin Carlsbad, CA. Possibly the best beer tasting ever, with 70 bottled rare and expensive beers and 20 on draft.
