Plastic phenols and muted musty hay with a heavy cherry skin and cherry stone aromatic. Sharp acidity up front, ripe sour cherries and minor floral notes. Almondy cherry stone character melds with a softening tartness. Cherry skin, dusty ester and phenol component in the finish with lingering woody acetic sourness. Mouthfeel is light, rather dry. Vintage 2003. Pours a gorgeous dark ruby-red with a large lasting pink head -- it’s not often I give a 5 for appearance but this looks great! Nice aroma of very tart cherries, yeast funk, sweet malt, wood and spices. Flavour: Oh man is that ever tart! Really tart cherries, funky yeast, sweet malt, vinegary wine and spices. Quite carbonated. This is amazing stuff! MrBendo (1043), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Shared with blankboy and GregClow, blankboy’s bottle courtesy of his 2006 SecretSanta. Poured thick, almost chunky deep red, large pink head - almost perfect. Aroma - holy crap - deep yeast funk, sour cherry, lush, goddamn great. Fresh sour cherry with a sweet thick malt base, waves of lanolin and burnt rubber yeast/funk, the flavour rolls and shifts on my palate - my wife (didn’t like it) said "lemon juice!" - very acidic but I think well behaved. Thick, acidic, mildly carbonation, medium linger - just friggin’ amazing, one of my favorites. GregClow (2498), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
