Bottle. Pours red in colour with a medium head. Medium dryness. Slightly sour and slightly moldy. Very nice. Maybe a very faint hint of cinnamon.

2002 bottle. Pours red with a wavering light pink head. Smells of rasberries and typical barnyard elements. Taste is light and fluffy with a nice rasberry note throughout and a dry finish. Extreme over the top tartness.

Draft at O’Brien’s. Kool-aid looking with minimal head. Aromas were very tart as expected. Cherry and even a bit of wood. Flavors were sour cherry. made me think of unsweeted pie filling. Very good and sour as expected. After the pucker, it goes down with a nice aftertaste. Very good stuff.

The 750 ml bottle is either a 2001, like the sticker says, or a 2003 like the cork says, I’m not sure what to believe! Anyway, it pours a deep cherry red color w/ a short lived light pink colored head. Intial aromas of barnyard horse maneur and sour cherries that become more earthy and baked cherry pie like as it warms. A hint of oaky aroma and bready malt come through as well. Also some leathery and chloroseptic like phenolic and sourness. Flavor is definitely sour throughout. Some corked woodiness, in the long dry finish with some baked cherry pie flavors mid palate that faint into the dryness. Up front very sour, but it backs off a little bit shortly into the sip. Earthy flavors thrown in for good measure. Oddly enough, there is a touch of sugary sweetness at the very front. Aftertaste is woody cork and dry with a hint of sour cherries. Dry mouthfeel, very dry and puckering tannin like. Lighter medium body, lower carbonation. Not a big fan of sour beers, but this one’s not too bad as far as they go. I’m having a bit of a hard time getting past the corked woody flavor.

2001 bottle that I recieved in a trade too long ago to remember who gave it to me. Deep ruby body with a thin pink head along with minimal lacing. Cherries abound along with some clover honey, loads of sourness, and a bit of woody/earthy too. The wife gets lemon grass, but I don’t. The cherries are there, along with a good deal of honey. The sour doesn’t hit right away, but it makes a sneak attack just before the taste is gone, and it hits with full force. A lasting sourness as well, only washed away by the next wonderful sip. Very very tasty.

2001 vintage. Pours a deep dull red with a thin pink head. Sharp, funky and acidic in aroma with just a hint of cherry. Low carbonation with a slender body that still manages to be elegant. Very sour with some oak flavors. Finishes fast, funky and clean. The cherry flavor is slight but lingering. Has a saccharine note in the finish.

Red with notes of brown appearance. Very refreshing an gigantial taste of cherries. Very clean and pleasant. Finish is moderately sour and slightly sweet.
