The aroma is sweet and strong in cherries. The flavor is dominated by cherries on a good sour background. This is a really good kriek. [Thanks to Joris and Jacob, I have been so fortunate to sample the predecessor of this, brewed to Hopduivel, vintage 1991, sampled 2005: A red beer with a disappearing pink head. The aroma is somewhat faint, but clearly of cherries. While the flavor is just fantastic, a nice dry woody cherry flavor, with lots of power. A delightful beer. 7/4/8/4/16] Papsoe (15103), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Fresh and fruity aroma with prominent cherries. Thin and somewhat watery body with acidic - but fresh - accents of cherries. Remains sourish all through the finish. 281006 yespr (12406), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 7, 2008 75 cL bottle. Pours hazy golden red with a huge pink head - slowly diminishing to nothing. Aroma is dry cherries with a note of the classic Cantillon barnyard dryness. Light almond note too. Flavou is solid acidic with a stringent sulphorish note to a dry yet fruity cherry flavour. Reveals almond like note into the far finish. omhper (12260), Stockholm, Sweden

Deep red. Acidic aroma rich on black cherries. Less sour and softer than their ordinary kriek. Very flavourful and tart where the Scharbeekse cherries bring vinous qualities, like tannines. It's remarkably complex and has a slightly woody finish. Mindblowingly fantastic brew! fonefan (11878), VestJylland, Denmark

Aroma is cantillonish sourness, but a lot of sour cherries also. Flavour is cherry, sourness and some cookies and nuts. Lovely balanced Cantillon. I just loved it.
