Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden. Peach colored lambic with a small head. In the nose, elements of fruit (smells of peaches and apricots) combine with traditional Cantillon lambik. Flavor mixes Cantillon with some light fresh fruits. An extremely sour lambic. In contrast, I sampled a Rose De Gambrinus next to it and it was like a Lindeman’s in comparison. Yet, I really wasn’t happy with the wood element or the addition of Opitz grapes. Beer is only as good as how it tastes. I failed to see the appeal here.

Hazy orange, not much head. Fruity, sour aroma. Fruity, hayish, blackcurrant and red grape flavor. Some earthy notes, sour aftertaste. Good and extremely drinkable as always from Cantillon.

Beautiful bottle, at Akkurat, shared with Per
Hazy golden color. Huge aroma, cellar, fruits, grapefruit, dust, delicate flowers. Aggressive mouthfeel, extreme citric acid, still very elegant; a mix of lemon juice and concentrated grapefruit; very astringent at the end.

Hazy yellow body, creamy white head; Very full almost fat fresh lemon juice and fresh grapefruit juice aroma, the grapes are very present almost oily warm; Very full (for Geuze) body, big soft carbonation, super sour with a sharp carbonation; Very long dry almost tannin like finish, sour extremely complex with lots of aroma the oily grape aromas are very present and lasts forever. Very, very good, but for sure not the easiest drinkable Cantillon.

Bottle from Akkurat of course. I feel like I spend most of my time there nowadays. Prettiest bottle à la Goldackerl. Hazy pal gold body, fading white head receding to a ring. Extremely enticing aroma, a pure perfume with intense, potent Muscat petits grains: highly pungent and a stunning idea out of the gate. It really bursts out of the glass like little that I’ve ever smelled. Limestone rocks, stoney cellar, dead leaves, but all backing the hugely aromatic fruit. Further nuances include limey 7-up and orange undertones. So unique and fun that this deserves a 10... what pungency - the fruit!! In mouth, the tartness takes over and the expected residual sugars have all been eaten. Very dry, yet quite full bodied. Bold carbonation, big bubbles, literally erupting and pusing the taste upfront. Here, nuances include green apples, white cranberries, green tea, rose petals, tar, pineapple..even kinda herbal. Complex indeed. Not too lactic for a Cantillon, though certainly very citric. The supervising funkiness seems so integrated that you don’t feel the need to mention it. I still can’t say I like the palate quite as much as the aroma, but I appreciate the immense contrast between both. As stylish, unique and racy as this gets, so necessarily hard to decript.
