Jeppe (2636), Ølbutikken, Denmark May 4, 2006 Had this one in the cellar of Akkurat along with ’Cantillon Reed Gueuze Pinot Noir’ and Sten’s own blend ’St. Andrews 2003’. Pours unclear orange and a fine white head. Aroma is Cantillon sour with notes of oj, grain, light spices and grapefruit peel, very full with an extreme complexity. Flavor is tart grapefruity and muscaty with white wine characters and some light spices. Sharp, warming, biding and complex to the bone - amazing!
KimJohansen (4296), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 19, 2008 Hazy amber with medium white head. Sour aroma with so much going on. Barnyard, grapefruit, leather and wood notes. Sour flavour with citric, grapefruit, barnyard and woody notes. Ends wit intense sourness. Excellent! Crosling (1660), Loveland, Colorado, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden. Peach colored lambic with a small head. In the nose, elements of fruit (smells of peaches and apricots) combine with traditional Cantillon lambik. Flavor mixes Cantillon with some light fresh fruits. An extremely sour lambic. In contrast, I sampled a Rose De Gambrinus next to it and it was like a Lindeman’s in comparison. Yet, I really wasn’t happy with the wood element or the addition of Opitz grapes. Beer is only as good as how it tastes. I failed to see the appeal here. Miksu (1293), Jyväskylä, Finland Jan 27, 2008 0.75 l bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm. Thanks oh6gdx and tbone_! Orange color. Sour acidic aroma with notes of lemon and grapefruit. Very vinous flavor with lemon, grapefruit, grapeskin and wood. Theis (2212), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 10, 2007 Bottle at Akkurat - again from Jens. Cloudy orange - white head. Nice sweet- / sour- / dryness, dry gooseberries, sparkling tongue feeling, high fruity. High sourness. very nice !!! TBone (5116), Pori, Finland Oct 7, 2007 Bottled@Akkurat
Hazy orange, not much head. Fruity, sour aroma. Fruity, hayish, blackcurrant and red grape flavor. Some earthy notes, sour aftertaste. Good and extremely drinkable as always from Cantillon.
