My oh my! This one does the trick, starting with a beautiful bottle and continuing when starting pouring. The colour is an clear amber/orange with a dense off white head.
The aroma is terrific! Dry and sour with weak notes of lemon, some grapes and some sweet berries along with black currants and hints of humid cellar and dust. This makes my teeth float!
In the mouth it taste of dry and mildly bitter grape, with notes of red wine grapes and wood. The after taste is especially dominated by the red wine grapes but also some berries, a little pepper and wood is present in the finish.
An absolutely astonishing beer!!

Smell is amazing, very fruity and acidic with some red berries. Taste is a bit tanninic and very acidic with fruity notes of grape peel and berries. It burns a bit in the throat from the sourness. A completely amazing beer. ggaughan (94), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Luxembourg
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 12, 2009 I had 2 bottles of this over the past year. The first bottle I shared with my wife at Akkurat in Stockholm in August 2008 but my review notes come from a tasting of this with my cousin, krkearney at Akkurat in September 2009.
The beer poured a rosey brown color with a thick off white head that escapes rapidly and leaves way to a thin film on top of the beer. The nose of the beer was floral and earthy with notes of lemon, pepper. The taste is acidic and tart but not as much as the Muscat and is actually a bit sweet from the grape tastes. There is a nice vinous quality to the beer from the barreling and grapes. The finish is sharp/dry and just wonderful. kkearn (1010), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a rose-straw color, with a white head that is initially huge, but fades to about 1/4 inch. Aroma of lemon, red grape, pepper, and acid. Grape aroma stands out more here than in Reed Gueuze Muscat. The flavor is much more acidic than the muscat. Lemon and lactic acid hit the palate first, and are joined by grape, pepper, and vinous notes. Nice lip smacking tartness that induces some heartburn. White pepper and acid linger. Deep orange bdoy with a big off white longlasting head. Fantastic aroma of berries, light acid, powerful sweet grapes, citrus and black currant. Creamy and smooth body. Acidic flavour with notes of dark berries, light pepper, oak and a very long aftertaste. Close to perfection. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
