kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Nov 9, 2009 1997 bottle from a kind soul at a Tampa Tasting group gathering. Pours a hazy caramel color with red highlights and a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of caramel, vinegar, overripe cherries, ripe berries, some light funk. Flavor is tart with notes of ripe cherries and berries, light vinegar, vinous esters. Medium body with a sour fruit finish. corby112 (672), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 2, 2009 Pours a bright cherry red color with a fizzy pinkish .5 finger head that quickly fizzles into a lasting ring. Nothing in the way of lacing. This just looks like artificial cherry syrupy food coloring.
Earthy funky sour tart aroma with lots of horseblanket barnyard notes, raspberry and grape. Very vinous with an organic fruit presence that isn’t artificial or syrupy. Oaky wooden tannis notes add to the earthy funk.
Slightly puckering sour tart flavor with a lot of organic raspberry as well as some grape and other dark estery fruits. Pretty carbonated up front with a lot of earthy sour barnyard funk along with some lactic tart notes. There is also a good bit of earthy oak that balances out the sweetness and sharp tar funkiness very well. Slightly acidic but overall pretty drinkable. Probably my least favorite Cantillon offering I’ve had so far but still decent.

Very fruity aroma. Amber coloured with a hint of pink. Sour fruit flavour. Smooth on the palate with a little dryness in a lasting finish. Finwe (56), Grankulla, Finland Oct 28, 2009 375 ml bottle at Maltainen Riekko. Pours red reminiscent of rosé wine with small pinkish head. Aroma has raspberry and sourness in it. Dry, sour taste with some raspberry. Finishes sour. bvc (227), Kenmore, Washington, USA Oct 24, 2009 375ml bottle, bottled in 2008 and purchased at John’s Market. Deeper Rosé wine color with a Pepto light pink head that settles down to a slightly off white ring around the edge of the glass. Right away I pick up tart raspberries, cranberries, horse blanket, aspirin, and chalky oak. Slightly dry and sharp up front and then big blast of tart raspberry and vinegar. Not a ton of complexity to it and I would prefer to get a little more out of the berries. Maybe I drank it too fresh? RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Oct 23, 2009 Tasted on tap. I neglected to inquire as to the age, but i would imagine it had a few years on it. Aroma has some fruit to it, but the flavor is all cutting acidity and bone dryness with raspberry on the finish. MBison (548), Southern Highlands, Australia Oct 19, 2009 Bottle 375ml. Aged 18 months piror to tasting. Poured hazy bloody pink with an averaged sized, pink, frothy head which was mostly diminishing. Aroma was of acidic fruit with strong notes of musty wild yeast, sea water, cranberry juice, sour raspberries and fresh lemon juice. A very strong acidity in the flavor with sour yeasty notes, tart acidic fruit, sour cherries, fresh lemon juice, unripe cranberries, salty/brine-like notes and light notes of white-whine vinegar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, a dry/tart mouthfeel, slightly syrupy texture and a long length finish.
