Commercial Description:
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

bubbly lambic with small white head and pink body. slight fruity taste but mostly sour as the lambic flavor dominates over the fruit infussion. enjoyed with romantic dinner.

[589-20070908] 1pt9.4floz @ Sourfest 2007 (Buffalo, NY, w/ rudolf, frylock, IPFreely, jerc, swoopjones). Raspberry musk aroma. Hazy, pink orange body with a medium-lasting foamy light pink head. Raspberry musky sourness in the flavour is not cloying. Medium body, sour. Fairly refreshing finish.

Very red, almost cartoony. Dry fruit and fruit skin aroma, raspberry detectable. Taste is less lambic-like than most Cantillons, and much more sweet. Hints of raspberry and other dark berries. Leaves the mouth dry and sticky, not unpleasantly so.

Bottle at Palm Tavern- Red color, small white head. Aroma is pleasent, raspberries a bit of barnyard though not overwhelming, and hiding its true self. Drinking this is truly sour and beautiful, very nice.

Draft at monks. Reddish color with a light pink head. Aroma dominated by acidic raspberries with some light sourness. Flavor is dominated by raspberries with a hint of lemon and funk. Not bad, but for Cantillon this is pretty disappointing. Maybe some time on a bottle of this will sour it up.
