Commercial Description:
Editor's Note: This is a special version of Saint Lamvinus that was bottled unblended (and uncarbonated) for Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden. Only 200 bottles were made. There were no distinguishing marks on them. This is NOT available in the United States nor in Belgium, unless from Jean Van Roy himself. Some bottles are available in Denmark from certain Ratebeerians, otherwise only from Akkurat. Unless you specifically were told that you had unblended Lamvinus, and it was dead flat, you had regular Lamvinus.

750ml bottle at the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/sweden/s target=blank>Akkurat in Stockholm, Sweden. Deep ruby in colour, no head, no lacing. The aroma is of tart red grapes, light cherries, quite sour. The flavour is tart at first, some fruit sweetness (cherries, grapes, some pear), woody, not as sour as other Cantillons can be. Mildly sour mouthfeel, medium body, very low-to-no carbonation. Finishes with a lingering sourness, light fruit sweetness, quite dry. Fantastic stuff, a very interesting take on the regular Saint Lamvinus. I’m loving these Unblended Lambics.

Acquired in a joint trade. Rate beer rating # 2,200 (and what a beer for that!). Poured a cloudy ruby red color with small sized white head. Aromas of grapes, brett, berries and light wood. Tastes of grape skins, light wood, and sour berries. Vinous. Nice tart and sourness. Mmmm.

Much thanks to egajdzis & hopdog for sharing this rare bottle. Only 200 of these unblended, uncarbonated bad boys were made and they were lucky to snag one in a trade from Denmark... Appears a hazy rose red with a small white head that slowly fades into a gentle pink toned collar. Scattered spots of lacing are left around the glass. Smell is of tart grapes, yeasty, rubbery funk, flowers, earthiness, perfumy, horse blanket...wow! Taste is of the same aromas in a tart, wild yeast blend. Mouthfeel is mouth puckering, yeasty, dry, and very wine like.

Thanks to hopdog and egajdzis for sharing this. Pours a hazy darker pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma of sour cherries, strawberry, some wood and grapes. Flavor was very sour, more grapes, cherry and a dry red wine finish.

huge thanks to egajdzis and hopdog for acquiring this and sharing. boured a cloudy slightly purply hazy color. the flavor is slightly wine like, and the bitterness doesnt overwhelm at all. i was actually a bit afraid of this beer, but it was wonderful from beginning to end. the sour aspect is crisp and dry, almost making your mouth feel cottony after each sip. an excellenty drinkable beer that surprised me and made me wish for more at the same time

Poured a hazy, ruby red color with a white head that left a collar around the glass and spots of lacing. Aroma of strong brett, farmhouse, some raspberry, bordeaux grapes, and light oak. Taste of strong tart grape, with more light oak, and a smooth, mouthpuckering sourness, with a beautiful soft and subtle mouthfeel. Big thanks to Jacob for hooking us up with this a while ago!
