Milkman Dan warned us that this beer smelled like Cow Manure, but tasted heavenly. I must admit, it has a weird aroma that I don’t particularly care for, although I don’t think it’s as bad as my son’s dirty diapers. Pink color with some carbonation. Flavor is somewhat tart and winelike with some oakiness and some berry flavors. As with most lambics, the sour seems to overtake the flavor, so I just don’t understand why many consider this to be great. I would agree with good, but not great. I think I preferred the faro (Chapeau) over this. Oh well. Skyview (4055), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a hazy bluish red amber brew with a fizzy light pink head that has good retention. Aroma of spritzy red grapes, oak, tart raisin, and more barnyard funk. taste is spritzy, medium bodied, with a sour red grape and pitted dark berry flavor. Finish is slightly dry with a lingering tart grape aftertaste. Quite the fruit lambic. Alldaydrinker (558), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA

Pours a red plum colour and light pink coloured head. Nose of grapes, red wine, wood, and acidity. Initial taste of red wine, vinous fruits and a fizzy mouthfeel. Wood is apparent when moving into the finish. Sourness lingers for an excellent duration. Finishing dry which didnt draw away from the duration. Very drinkable. Scauca (412), Lovere, Italy

Gives off huge aroma of strawberries and moss. Thick, tightly bubbled attack. Refreshing for all the weight it packs. Dense lemon, strawberry, moss, and caramely tang feel to the mid-palate. Long, clingy sour finish. KimJohansen (7049), Copenhagen V, Denmark

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Originally received a 4.1 from me on 10/4/05. Pricey to say the least, but I was intrigued enough to bring one back home from a beer store in Boston. Fantastic winelike appearance with plenty of grapey flair. Tart and sour with a helping of wood. Dry. Sourness rears big time as you progress. Tasty, yes...but not worth the cost IMO.
