Hazy reddish color, short off-white head. Aroma is tart, fruity of cherries and grapes, some marzipan. Nice fruity taste, soft sweet and slight tart, some oak.

Fruity aroma of grapes, winey. Hazy, red coloured with not much head. Taste is tart, bit sweet, winey/fruity (grape), some oak/wood in it. Quite nice and refreshing after a load of imperial stout.

2004 vintage. Pours a reddish pink with minimal head and carbonation. Sour grapes on the nose... more like a wine than a beer. Same for the flavor... sour with hints of grape-y sweetness.

Re-rate 5/24/2008. Damn... was I off base in my first review. Boatlaods of grape and wood tannen all over the place with that dirty, Cantillon house funk on the tongue. Acidic, tart and wonderful all around.

Pours a glowing purple, dark pinkish color with a very thin light purple head. Lovely looking. Smells of monster sourness with a very fruity background. If I had no clue what was being poured blinfolded and smelled this beer, I’d guess Cantillon. The taste is very acidic, but not as overpowering as the aromas would suggest. Once you get past the sourness, some nice atringent fruits show up. Some grapes and lemon from the acidity are definitely present. Just another good Cantillon showing.

I hope I enjoy this $30 beer. 750mL, Botteld in 2003 on the cork. Pours a slightly hazy bright orange with some maraschino cherry colored highlights, and a small white head (tiny bubbles) that fades to a ring before long. Smells really sour and acidic. There is some woody oak, funk, faint grape juice. Flavor is indeed quite sour--lemon and unripened granny smith apple-like--with some oak and funk again, and a dry finish. Burped stale herbal hops. Light body with minimal carbonation. Very good.

Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, bottled ’04). Slight grape juice and musty caramelised sugars in the aroma. Slightly vinous. Grape perhaps less noticeable than other fruits in cantillon beers. Sourness slightly restrained.

Blackurrant red with off white head. Sour typical cantillon aroma. Fruity fresh (cranberry/cherry) vinegar. Very nice & almost easy drinkable (Never thought I should ever write that) Nice!
