Rosy top in the look here, deeper burgundy beneath, under absolutely no head...par for style, though... Aroma: bracing, yet invigorating, a blast of cherries and grape, twisted by sour...musty, rank, and deep...liking it...a deep well, dominated by fruit. Delectable. Taste it, already! Oooo! Weeee! Owww! Bold, huge, fat puckeration,...ooo, ooo, ooo! Takes hold of the mouth and doesn’t let go! A blend of dark fruits, cherries, and berries, and grapes. Luscious. Sour and flavorful. Mellows a touch, gets easy as we go, gets easier to take.. Not for everyone, but a particular treat for demanding palates, constant play on the tongue that is rewarding for some, punishing for others. Hard to compare this to anything else on earth. Far beyond any other lambic, a definitive sui generis classic. 2004 bottling. too young? who’s to say. worth the $33 spent? probably...

Light hazy reddish colour with a thin pink head. Light tart fruity aroma with notes of wood. Tart fruity flavor with a light yeasty note.

Pours a solid clear red with a thin pink head. Clean, tart Lambic aroma with only the faintest grape influence. Sour, woody, slightly tannic and with some ashy notes. Finishes dry. A bit thin in body. The flavors work quite well. I got this at the brewery, dragged it all over Belgium and France, finally enjoyed it today.

750 ml bottle, purchased in Belgium and shared by Vac and zug4abby - thanks you two! Pours a clear deep ruby color with a small pinkish head. Dry champagne aroma, wet wool, some sweat and funk. Flavor is complex and hard to describe, dry and funky, with notes of grape juice bereft of sugars, champagne, wood and tannins. Light to medium body, fizzy and creamy carbonation.

<!-- i -->Bottled 0,375 ltr<!-- /i --><!-- br --> Cherry red, decent creamy mostly vanishing reddish head. Earthy farmhouse aroma with some strawberries, grape there too. Sour (of course), quite red wine -like grape flavors burst from the background. Not really so much different than their Kriek, but this one lends towards more winous flavor palette.

Purchased at the Cantillon Brewery, BE. Beautiful fruity, tart aroma and crystal clear cherry-juice color with a pink head. Very dry and lively beer with distinct red-wine flavors with just a hint of actual grape. Very complex and challenging beer, but also very rewarding.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm 27 April) - Beautiful clear red body, no head; Even though this again is the strange mix of wine and lambic, this one has an unusual clarity. The lambic character is very clear and it is spiced with the elegance of the grapes. The nose is clear and lots of complexity in it: Citrus, lots of very green apples on a background of blueberry, forest soil, truffle (clear notes from the Bordeaux-grapes added to the blend (not Burgundy!)) and a little sweet vanilla (with time in the glass, all this is overpowered by very simple wine notes); Quite sour, quite simple full body; into long sour finish with character and notes of a very bad watery merlot wine, this is extending into some fine touches of lambic.
