Bottle pours deep reddish with some brownish highlights. Funky barnyard aroma along with wine, Merlot specifically. Luscious mouth feel with big wine like body and some slight gueze like flavors. Smooth finish. Not bad and I am not a wine fan.

On tap @ Map Room. Deep red fading to beetroot @ edges w/ an effervescent pink bubblyness @ the top; sour grape and cherry aromas; sour vinous flavor w/ grape skin, acidic bite and a woody dryness. Similar to the Vigneronne w/o the sea salt and more fruit. Nice. Sweetness perfectly moderated and quite tart.

on tap at maproom....slightly hazy red berry pour with a light pink milky white head...enticing aroma of strawberry and red fruits upfront with some barnyard and funk accents on the backend... tart and cheesy flavors. berries with subdued funkiness and lots of red fruit flavor. tart dry finish with a fluffy light mouthfeel that lends to its smoothness and drinkability. only if it weren’t so expensive.....

Sampled at Beerhawk’s Beer Gods in the Boro, aka 1000 Bottles of Beer on the Wall, By God Beer God Gathering, BG1K Tasting. My dear god. This is the type of lambic that turns me off entirely. Pinkish red pour with brilliant white head is extremely appealing, but that is quickly followed by the aroma of smelly butt cheese. Way to tart and not even fun to try. But maybe i’ll get into this style eventually...

Bottle. Sour and yeast aroma with plenty of grapes and some wood. Nice unclear red colour with small white head. Sour and fruity flavour. Both appearance and flavour is close to rhubarb. Prickly nose.

bottle shared by thecheeseman: pours beautiful dusky red grape juice colour with little to no head. aroma is great full of grapes slight sour and funk a great fruit to it also. flavour is so smooth with a little sour and just a fantastic fruit. finish is just as smooth as can be.

Rating 1002, shared with funkybrewster and xnoxhatex. 2005 cork. Pours a murky pinkish orange brown with a fine white froth. Super funky barnyard aroma, very tart and nostril stinging, lightly cheesy, hint of berries, dusty yeasty funk. Fantastic tart super tangy quite sour funky lambic and old wine flavor, pretty amazing, I really enjoy this, moldy funky berries, just a hint of vinegar, fantastic woodiness towards finish, with huge lingering slightly tannic crusty wine aftertaste. Just a tad soapy. Medium bodied, a hint of creaminess, super fine sharp carbonation. I love it. Not as clean as most lambics but has great character.

Been wanting to try this even before i had a real lambic.. woah, very refreshing, lots of fruit and sour raspberry .. . stinky! off fruit and sour .. . some wine to go with the fruit.. great stuff.. . WL cross off, originally put on 5/22/2006 .
