Cantillon Saint Lamvinus

Oh what a stunning beer. If I could give a perfect score for any of the categories (I am anal about that and have never done it), aroma and flavor would be 10 and 10 respectively. Aroma was perfect. Strong funk, mold and barnyard fill the nose. Smells like it’s been buried for 100 years in a dirty wet dusty blanket. Pour was a beautiful dark red/purple with no head. Taste was extremely sour and funky. Heavy sour grape with an acidic mouth puckering aftettaste. Dries the mouth and cheeks. Little carbonation that disappears mid drink. Near perfect.

Ruby red body and a whispy white head. A strong funky aroma hits right up front, kind of horsey, like a barnyard, and a nice sour fruit note comes through. The flavor is sweet and tart, plenty of delicious fruit presence, a bit of bitter funk, like cheese rind, comes through toward the finish.

Light unclear medium red color with a virtually none appearance, virtually none lancing, head. Aroma is grape sour - acidic, vinous, tart. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and acidic with a long duration, and a dry tart finish. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. ;o)) (250508)

750 courtesy of Josh from Vintage Estates. Pours purple/red with no head. Nose is sour grape with a citrusy hint, slight oak. Taste is an abundance of sour grapes, citrus, and lots more grape. Dry and sour. Did I mention that it’s slightly tart? Also some slight, bright cherry notes, also some slight bready yeast and sourdough undertones as it warms. Very nice beer. Tasty. Bottle @ Ølbaren. Medium red with small pink head. Fruity aroma. Very nice tart grape flavour. Excellent.
