Big funky sour cantillon lemon character, the cranberries do add some fruit, but its all about the super acidic in your face funk. Its really developed well and im soo glad i got the chance to try this. Chin chin!

I had this in my cellar for a few years; finally cracked it open to celebrate my cousin’s wedding. We had the same experience as beastiefan2k after popping the cap. The cork started to advance upward from the neck of the bottle on its own, and after 15 or 20 seconds, the cork launched at least 10 feet into the air, hitting some tree branches before landing on the table. A cool start to a beer experience I’ve been anticipating for a long time.
The beer pours murky golden amber, capped with a huge off-white head.
Aroma is dry and a bit chalky, with notes of lemon, brett, earth, and a little leather. Flavor follows suit, with citrus, especially lemon and grapefruit, wild yeast, earth, barnyard, and mild vinegar. Very dry, mildly tart finish. I did not get any substantial cranberry notes from either the aroma or the flavor, but it was delicious nonetheless.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 16, 2009 I had this at Spuyten Duyvil a few years ago, even took but never entered it. Well, I did not let that opportunity pass when EDA opened a bottle at the RBSG’09 Grand Tasting. Well, Mike popped the cap and started looking for cork screw... and he did not need it. The cork just started to inch out slowly, how awesome. Obviously a thick head that does fade to a nice thick lacing. The color is a thick, murky, muddy straw/golden, cannot see through it. So as usual its all Cantillon, except aged in this case. That crazy lemon Cantillon brett is there and behind it the aged, heavier maltiness and hay. Still some vinegar in play as well. Still plenty of pucker in this baby as well. Awesome stuff, no cranberries of course. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 2, 2009 25 oz bottle, via EDA. Pours a slightly cloudy and hazy yellow body with zero head. Very funky nose: cork, cellar cobwebs, sweaty feet, little bit of that wet leather/barnyard notes, really no identifiable cranberry at all. The flavor is bone dry and very funky with not a whole lot of sourness. No cranberry in the flavor either, just lots of Cantillion house funk. Tastes very much like a Gueuze actually, which makes sense cause that’s pretty much what’s left if the fruit is gone. Bone dry on the palate, not especially sour or bracing, just dry and tart. Overall, I’m really glad to have tried this, and it was certainly tasty, but it’s probably a whole different beer than when this came out. miketd (679), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Pours a clear gold color with virtually no head. Aroma is lemon, funk and distinctly Cantillon. More tart than sour. Acidic finish. Good beer from a great craftsman.
