Bottle from EZ Liquors. Pours a deep shade of orange wth lots of large clinging bubbles and an average to smallish frothy white head. Aroma is to grainy sweet like someone poured honey all over a piece of bread. The flavor is far more crisp then the sweet aroma would lead one to believe with a nice grainy prescence and a decent floral hop finish. Not the most complex beer out there but good enough to knock a few back.

12 ounce bottle from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a medium frothy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, grain, grass and a bit of corn. Taste is sweet malts, grain and a grassy finish. Medium bodied.

12oz bottle. The color is a tan-orange, which immediately strikes me as un-Kolschlike. The aroma is mild and sweet. Not a bad beer, just misses the style. Not unlike an Amber really. Hmm. Some interesting smooth malty tones going on, quite earthy. Almost more of a hoppy light Alt. Disappointing, especially if you are looking for a crisp, light beer. I think it’s about time team Cape Ann took a trip to the Rhineland.

Bottle. Pours a honey amber body with a white head. Some mild sticky floral notes, some earth and hints of hop bitterness. Some tea or tannic bitterness.

12oz bottle. Not bad, though not really worth seeking out either. Have not seen this one very widely available so thought I would give it a try when I did.

(bottle - 12 oz) Slightly hazy amber color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is full of floral and bitter hops, some earthen notes, and a light citrus hint mixed with toasted malts. Smells more like a pale ale. Flavor is oddly tangy at the beginning but then gives way to a smooth and floral hop bite. The malts take a back seat to the bitterness as the hops roll through the flavor. Very mild however. The finish is bitter and earthy with some hints of grass. The bitterness lingers for a while. Not bad.

Hazy orange in color with a lasting off white head. Would be a nice appearance if this was a pale ale or IPA, but I would have expected a kolsch to be more straw in color and a bit more clear. Aroma has some floral hops, light fruits, some weird earthy quality, and some lightly toasty malts. Taste: more like a weird pale ale to me than a kolsch- tea, mild floral hops, and some toasted malts. MIld grassy bitterness in the finish, heavy for the style.

Bottle: Dry with a hint of citrus. Not what I was expecting from an ale. This was ok, but not impressive.
