Red/orange coloured with just a bit of head and lace. Aroma has some grapefruit hops with a bit of malt. Malty up front with that grapefruit hops bitterness coming through in the mid palate and ending in a decent final bitterness that ends abruptly leaving your mouth dry and thirsting for more. Pretty sold.

Appearance: Pours a hazy amber body with a thin, fizzy white head. Smell: Soft aroma of lightly toasted malts, grapefruit, and pine. Taste: Toasted, biscuity maltiness with very little sweetness. Flavors of grapefruit and pine deliver a citric, sharp bitterness. Dry, earthy finish with more of that bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A decent IPA. Sail ON, Fisherman’s IPA!

Name: Fisherman’s IPA
Date: 12/22/2007
Mode: Bottle
Source: Tasting, Cellar Party

hazy burnt orange, wispy beige head, streaks of lace, perfect sugared grapefruit aroma with the sweet crystal malts and citrus hops, creamy body, sweet malt flavor, lots of balancing citrus hops, bitterness rises midway until it takes of for a long bitter finish, flavor does not live up to the wonderful aroma,

Pours a slightly hazy copper bronze with a wispy-lacing froth of off-white head. Aroma of lemony citrusy hops and some lightly caramely malt. Body starts with decent fullness and lightly sweet earthy caramel malt with some resiny grapefruity bittering and flavor hops toward a drier finish. A decent IPA, but needs a fresher, more aromatic hop presence.

12oz bottle shared courtesy of dickinsonbeer (thanks for another off my want list!). Poured a deeper amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops, citrus/oranges, and soem toasted caramel. Tastes volor suit.

Thanks to dickinsonbeer. Pours a hazy deeper amber with a medium bubbly, lightly lacing off white head. Aroma of mixed citrus, some caramel, toasted malt and some floral notes. Flavor of iced tea, citrus notes, some toasted malts and caramel.

Bottle. Clear copper with a fading off-white head. Toasty caramel is the primary character in the nose then comes some earthy hop qualities. Flavor starts with ample dark toffee, bread with ample resinous (somewhat metallic) and earthy bitterness - a very spicy, peppery hop note as well. Bitterness lingers on the tongue. Has a pleasant caramel presence without being too sweet - but too peppery for my tastes. Medium to full bodied with a smooth texture and ample carbonation.

a nice brew with the grapefruit aroma that is typical in dry hopped beer. the malt profile is firm enough to balance the floral flavor. finishes sweet and bitter.
