Pours to a slightly hazy, deep amber color, with a thick, creamy, off white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is very fragrant, with lots of good citrus/herbal/piney hops, with some good pale and carmel malt aromas. The palate is firm, with good pale, and caramel malt flavors, paired with some fruity esters, and citrus hop flavors. This beer finishes with more good pale and caramel malt up front, then ends with a long, dry, piney/citrus hop bitterness that lingers. Well done IPA with really good hop aromas, flavors, and bitterness. I like the fact this beer has a really good malt back bone to stand up to the aggressive hop character of this beer. A great after work brew, or a good beer to match with hot and spicy foods. Like with Fisherman’s Brew, Fisherman’s IPA is a beer I will gladly try again. mribm (419), Hurley, New York, USA

After 1 26 month layoff from beer, this is a welcome return to the world of hops. I would buy this again! Sigmund (2301), Hafrsfjord, Norway

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 4, 2007 Pours a ruby hued brown with a large sudsy, dimpled tan head with great retention and lacing. The nose is intensely piney and resiny with a solid sweet malty presence. Most of the flavour is dominated by the bitter character these hops, which hinders other flavours from coming through. There is a sweet bready malt backbone which adds some citrus (grapefruit), dried fruit, and caramel to the flavour, but piney bitterness in predominant throughout especially in the finish. The palate is so chewy and thick. This is a full bodied IPA if I’ve ever come accross one. The finish is extremely drying, sucking every last bit of moisture from the tongue, leaving only piney hop bitterness. ChristianScheffel (4679), Odense, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 16, 2007 Bottle: poured a nice rusty orange hue with a fairly solid foamy head. Subdued aroma, almost musty, almost like cheerios, really. The drink is equally chewy, richly malty, with a whole-grain bagelishness almost. There’s a bit of fruity edge right up front, but it mellows almost immediately into the quaff. Different than the average American IPA, but tasty and sessionable, to be sure. hazy burnt orange, wispy beige head, streaks of lace,
perfect sugared grapefruit aroma with the sweet crystal malts and citrus hops,
creamy body,
sweet malt flavor, lots of balancing citrus hops, bitterness rises midway until it takes of for a long bitter finish,
flavor does not live up to the wonderful aroma,

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Aromas of hop and malt. Hazy mahogany color with a 3 or 4 finger head. Sweet citrus hop? Or caramel with hop? Really tasty. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. The hop dominates, and the finish is bitter. It’s really great. 64 IBUs? Seems like more. Just good ale.
