Thought this one was oxidized and a bit bland. I had this one aged a year though, perhaps my stock was corrupted? The pumpkin was beautifully well done and submissive to the more assertive flavors though I felt the roastiness could have been bumped up. Perhaps this is a product of this beer being aged. It was very good, but no where near great or fantastic. The roast just seemed dark and not complex, not earthy, not bitter, not dry. No astringency, just dark tasting, as if burned or coffee flavor was a liquid addative. Ok, but not my favorite.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is slight smoke, ash, malt, chocolate with a hint of pumpkin. Palate is a bit thinner than I would expect. Taste is typical stout flavors, chocolate, malt, a touch of coffee with a slight hint of pumpkin.

Well first off, I’m not sure why this is categorized as a spice beer when it says stout right on the bottle. But oh well, debate later, drink now. Has a near pure black color. Aroma is kind of complex. Smells of pumpkin, coffee, and a heavy smoked aroma. Taste has a mix between coffee, pumpkins, and smoke. Clean aftertaste. The smoked flavor just didn’t work for me. It was a little too intense and really took away from the pumpkin flavor.

12oz bottle. Pours brown with a bit of a reddish hue, with a thin tan head. Aroma is very vegetal, with pumpkin, spice, and caramel. Flavor is heavy on spice, with nutmeg, allspice, brown sugar, chocolate and pumpkin. Spices hang on for a long finish.Thin bodied, and not very complex. I expected a more intense beer with more stout character.

I feel like most pumpkin beers I have are straight-ahead ales, so I was intrigued by this stout offering. And I wasn’t let down. The Pumpkin Stout has all the pumpkin deliciousness of a great fall beer, along with the richness and complexity of a strong stout. Poured a dark black with a solid beige head. In the flavor, you can certainly detect notes of coffee, chocolate and other spices, which all compliment the pumpkin quite nicely. Finishes smooth, making the whole experience amazingly good.

Pours deep brown. NOse is clove and loads of cinnamon, sweet toasted malt, nutmeg. Flavor is very apparent pumpkin spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, sweet malt. FInishes dry with a lingering spice. Spice kind of gets to you after a while.
