Commercial Description:
2007 New England Microbrew Champ and Silver Medal winner at the 2007 Great International Beer Festival! This very unique style is more stout than the usual "pumpkin pie" ales that are out there, with hints of real pumpkin & spice and a dark, coffee, stout flavor!

Bottle, via trade with beerbill, dark brown with good solid foam, aroma of pumpkin spice and fresh shucked corn, flavor of nutmeg, pumpkin and brown sugar, finish is light

Pours dark brown with fluffy brown head. Aroma was roasted malt, with a little bit of spice. Went down really smooth, but didn’t really taste the pumpkin. Very roasted flavor throughout. Would drink again.

Pours dark brown nearly black with a one finger tan head. Looks like a stout. Aroma of sweet vegetables, pumpkin, some brown sugar and roasted barley. To my surprise, the sweet pumpkin flavor worked well with the stout - but this stout has a huge smoky flavor that pretty much overwhelmed everything else. No spice at all. This has turned me on to the idea of a "pumpkin stout", however as a stout this one is pretty mediocre.

I had trouble picking up any pumpkin notes, or spices at all. Seems to be just another mediocre stout, easy to drink, but a bit watered down.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a slim taupe head. Earthy nose with mild brown sugar and coffee. Hints of pumpkin and nutmeg. Medium light with foamy carb; quenching for a stout. Taste is molasses, mocha, lime zest, allspice and nutmeg. Some pumpkin in the finish with a metallic tang. I like the idea but comes off a bit thin.

Thick black look, with a half-inch of off-white (brownish) head. Looks like a regular old stout, in a good way. If it looks like a stout, it smells like a pumpkin ale. Sweet and brown sugary pumpkin pie. Sweet but a little toasted. The combo of the very smoky Irish stout taste and the sweet pumpkin pie is suprising. A decent balance. It feels smooth and a tad oily. A solid stout with some sweet balance. The pumpkin overshadows but the chalky stout malt balances.

Pours deep brown with a slight tannish head. Aroma of vegetables but mostly roasty malts. Initial flavor of chocolate and coffee. There is a only a hint of pumpkin which is good. No spice what so ever. Slightly sweet body and no bitterness at the end. Nice take on a pumpkin beer, not overkill.
